Is John McCain, messy maverick, qualified? [“ ...the blight appears to have set in early”]
Newsday ^ | July 28, 2008 | By Les Payne

If elected president, Sen. John McCain promises to stage a press conference every week, a singular horror that, of itself, should be enough to doom his chances.

This McCain threat shows no mercy for his staff, which trails this creaky circus doing what the man with the shovel does for the elephant. "Being human and tripping over your tongue occasionally doesn't mean a thing," said one top official for the GOP nominee. By contrast, McCain dismissed his opponent's verbal appeal last week as Sen. Barack Obama blitzed the Middle East and Europe, smooth-talking some 200,000 in Berlin.

McPain is too dam old to be President. He's soft in the head (no water boarding) and wants to be everything to everyone illegal immigration). He's a selfish egotistical moron. Oh yeah ... a Nam hero - guess that should make everything okay.

Mcain at times doesn’t seem to understand that as a President he has to be conventional in a lot of ways. His campaign tactics are in some ways messy and he might not be listening to the people who are trying to help him.

Is John McCain, messy maverick, qualified?

Not by any reasonable standard. Then again, he is Ronald Reagan compared to the empty suit Obama.

Tell you what, many many conservatives will vote for him anyway cause he is all we got.

Wait is it to late for something to change at the Republican convention?? :::wink,wink:::

Maybe a good conservative VP may help??

At this point, the only question to be asked is, "Is John McCain more qualified than Barry Obama?" The answer, even taking into account all McCain's faults, is an overwhelming "yes"; that is just how bad Barry and his band of political nabobs are.

The answer to the question is no. But the teleprompter-reading U.S. Senator with five months experience before he started running for president isn’t even qualified to run a corner drug store of either the legal or illegal variety.

His age and experience are definitely superior to what Senator Obama offers.

I saw no mention of Obama’s “57 states” remark.

Nor of Obama’s “10,000 people killed in a Kansas tornado” remark.

Nor of Obama’s “this is a campaign trip, no it’s not, yes it is, no it’s not” Berlin escapade.

Nor of Obama’s “I can’t disown my pastor, this isn’t the man I know, I disown my pastor” flap.

Nor of Obama’s “typical white person” remark.

Didn’t see any of this stuff mentioned by this “journalist” in this article, yet he claims that McCain’s verbal gaffes disqualify him. Of course, I shouldn’t be surprised that this “brutha” finds no fault worth examining when it comes to the candidacy of The Chosen One.

Mark my words, Obama and his sychophant minions will tear this country apart.

McCain is not a “natural-born citizen”.

I have been holding on to the hope that something does happen at the convention that forces McCain to step aside, because frankly I just don't see how he can win in November with this completely incompetent campaign he is running.

Sen. John McCain promises to stage a press conference every week...

If he can articulate the facts, and his goals and policies, it would be a plus.

I wish GWB had talked more, and tangentially, that he had talked better.

Mr. author, I guess that the fact that the 200,000 were actually there to hear the top two rock bands, and drink free beer, just slipped your mind!

The huge crowd just didn't show up to hear Obama.
