Tennessee man cites church's liberal values as reason for shooting (barf)

A man who shot and killed two parishioners during a children's play at a Tennessee church yesterday attacked the congregation because of its outspoken socially liberal and gay-friendly beliefs, police said.

The 58-year-old unemployed engineer accused in the Sunday morning attack at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, was driven to bloodshed in part by his "stated hatred for the liberal movement" as well as his hatred for gays, said Knoxville, Tennessee, police chief Sterling Owen. "We're certainly investigating it as a hate crime."

For anyone who might be interested, here is the definition of religion we used:

A philosophy of life, practiced by a community, defined in myth and ritual.

"If we are honest—and as scientists honesty is our precise duty—we cannot help but admit that any religion is a pack of false statements, deprived of any real foundation. ..." - Paul Dirac

In reviewing the posts I see an interesting difference between “liberal” and “conservative” political killers.

Conservatives distance themselves from the murderers who cite conservative polical purposes for killing and cry out for justice regardless of stated politcal purposes(this wacko, McVey, etc).

Liberals point out how oppressed the leftist killer is, how he or she needs understanding and that society was truely responsible for driving him or her to it or allowing a gun to exist that could do such damage. Later, they declare the killer rehabilitated and give him or her a professorship at a major university.

A bit simplistic perhaps, but truer than any liberal would like to admit. Also, let no one misconstrue my sarcasm with a lack of understanding for the victims of this wack job. It was an evil act upon innocent souls and deserves strict temporal justice. May they rest in the peace of God.

If they are honest, and scientists are no more so than anyone else, they would admit they don’t have the foggiest notion of what is true or not about religion.

I read in another article that he didn't like Christians either. Dad made him go to church when he was a kid, or something like that.

Course that hasn't been blasted as a headline over the MSM.

Yes, the shooter is a terrorist.

The shooter is a murderer. Why the need for any other description?

According to this:

that was his ex-wife's church. Liberal or not, I'm sure that's relevant.

In this case, Liberals will have to alter their view and favor the Death Penalty in this case while Conservatives will remain consistent and favor the Death Penalty for this murdering POS thug.

I'm pretty sure no anti- death penalty liberals are going to change their minds because of this.
