I think Romney or Ridge would be stronger picks than Pawlenty.

Pawlenty is a bit of a snooze.

McCain needs Michael Palin’s sister, or he’s McDole!

McCain is running one of the most inept campaigns, ever, for president, and I thought Bob Dole's campaign was the worse. The republicans sure messed up bad this year.

I suspect the democrats pulled out all the stops during the republican primary season to get McCain nominated, because they knew what an awful campaigner he would be, thus assuring the democrats a victory in November.

McCain is toast, he just does not know it yet. He has his head buried in the sand, listening to all his 'yes' men, ignoring the dissent within his own party, just like George Bush Sr did.

Good-bye McCain, get ready to drink your sorrows away with Hillary!

Pawlenty is my hero. He balanced a $4.3 billion deficit he inherited from Ventura without raising taxes and gave us conceal carry. I believe he is a lot more conservative than he lets on and since he has no baggage he is a safe bet for McCain. I picked Pawlenty back in January because I am great, aint that right NS?

The VP question gives the blabbers something to blab about but I cannot believe any votes hinge on who gets the VP slot. I know I'm in the minority on this but the arguments I hear about the importance of VP just don't impress me. I think a bad pick can hurt but a good pick really isn't that important.

That said, Pawlenty is a fairly good guy. I know I'm in the minority on that too but I think center right is accurate. His worst position is his Climate change idiocy but he really didn't jump on that bandwagon until he started lobbying for McCain's VP position, which started about two/three years ago.

Minnesota has mandated a 10% mixture of gasoline and ethanol (gasohol) since 1997, while most cars are designed to safely handle 15%. Pawlenty signed into law in May 2005 a bill that will raise the minimum mandated mixture to 20% in 2013. Pawlenty has also lobbied the Governors' Ethanol Coalition to mandate higher ethanol use nationwide.

Conservative Republican governors were not supportive of Pawlenty's presentation on clean energy to the governor's association, which he gave in cooperation with Ed Rendell, who is the governor of Pennsylvania and the NGA's Democratic vice-chairman. With Kathleen Sebelius of Kansas, Pawlenty is co-chairman of the association's energy committee. The effort received "adamant opposition" from governors of oil producing states.

Pawlenty won the governor's race by just 21,000 votes in 2006, down from the 180,000 he won by in 2002. It looks like he doesn't wear well.

I want him here in Minnesota. He’s our last line of defense; he’s vetoed a bunch of the DFL-controlled legislatures’s latest schemes to separate us from our money.

keeping the gas-tax-increase advocates at bay and convincing the rest of the state to ignore them.

This explains why the Legislature increased the state gas tax, right?

I'm not a huge Pawlenty fan. He has passed tax increases onto localities so he could avoid blame at the state level, and city services are in a huge bind across the state as a result. Let him run on RINO McCain's ticket and let's see if Carol Molnau can get it right.

It would be worth it to see Governor Molnau make the Red Star Tribune's blood pressure spray out its collective ears. They detest her so she's already good enough for me.

It would be an excellent choice.
