The problem is not "lose" vs. "loose."
The problem is, how do you spell the word that is pronounced "lose-er."
Loser? Looser? If it's the latter, then how do you spell the word that means to make something less tight?

I used to think that too, but now I think most people really don't know the difference. Either way, it's a loose-loose proposition.

Do you know what bothers me the most? It’s people in more affluent areas that run or walk in the street and expect me to drive around them I don’t drive on the sidewalk so don’t walk in the street.

I've always wondered why every single person who plugs into a broadband connection automatically "looses" the ability to spell this one simple word. This ranges from the lowliest gamer illiterate right up to cultural mavens who freely use words like autochthonous in blog posts.
