Has Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine's chances of landing the coveted spot as Obama's Veep risen?
According to stories at both The Politico and the Washington Post Kaine has risen to the level of serious contender, along with Indiana Sen. Evan Bayh and Delaware Sen. Joe Biden.
The WaPo story has close Kaine associates acknowledging that Kaine has told them that he has had "very serious" conversations with Obama about joining the ticket.

A Presidential election where the VP’s of both major Presidential candidates will probably be more liked than the Presidential candidates themselves.

Oprah’s Obama can win VA with Kaine but would probably lose IN anyway. On the other hand, he may get 400+ electoral votes, as McPain seems to err more each week.
“Has Kaine’s chances risen?”
How is his command of English grammar?
Governor Kaine entered political life in 1994 and was elected to four terms on the City Council, including two terms as Richmonds mayor, where he worked to build Richmonds first new schools in a generation, cut taxes and slash the citys crime rate. Richmonds success in reducing violent crime won national recognition from Presidents Clinton and Bush and the International Association of Chiefs of Police. The improvements in Richmonds economy during Kaines tenure earned the city its first-ever listing in Forbes Magazines annual ranking of the top 10 cities in America for doing business.
Governor Kaine was elected Virginias Lieutenant Governor in 2001. He worked for four years with Governor Mark Warner to reform the states budget and invest new resources in education.
Governor Kaine has been elected to become Chairman of the Southern Governors Association in the summer of 2008.
Have you checked the polls lately Obama collaborator
There is a new Gallup poll that says Obama is trailing by 4 points. This may or may not be a fluke. The fact is that the people “want” him or think they do, as they are anti-GWB.
Said "err"s no doubt explaining how McCain has opened a 4-point national lead over Obama.
The "Mayor" of Richmond is largely ceremonial, and he had little to do with all the "good things" that happened in Richmond.
The Lt. Governor is really the president of the Senate, but only to vote if it's a tie. Otherwise, he does nothing.
Kaine really has little real executive experience -- but he does have a lot more than Obama.
On the other hand, he's only won one state-wide election, and he has no foreign policy or military experience.
He’s just a regular guy here’s an idea for the acceptance speech.

And it will get Tim Kaine out of office. Two RATs with one stone. Sweet!
This will be great. It will be a twin killing. We will beat barack mcgovern and get rid of a phony like kaine at the same time. Why? The nation will see right through this attempt to make B-mac look “conservative” by picking this creep.
FWIW, that was true while Kaine was mayor. That's changed now that the Mayor (currently Doug Wilder) is elected.
But your point applies correctly to Kaine.

When I first saw the headline, I thought “Al Kaline? No way he’d go with Obama! Plus, they misspelled his name!” Then I realized....
