I have a theory that in any culture where the men are not held responsible to care for and protect the women, they will eventually be responsible for nothing.

And if the women try to replace the men in their role, the men will let them, and just go off to amuse themselves.

Happens every time it's tried.

Agreed. Women civilize men; without a binding obligation, men lean toward destructive asocial tendencies.
