Mass trial of Syrian dissidents

The trial of 12 dissidents has started in the Syrian capital Damascus. The suspects signed a petition which called for democratic reforms. Human rights activists say this is the first time that the authorities hold a mass trial of so many dissidents. The twelve are accused of spreading false information, undermining national morals and instigating racial and sectarian unrest.
