On Sunday, he said on national television that to solve Social Security "everything's on the table," which of course means raising payroll taxes. On July 7 in Denver he said: "Senator Obama will raise your taxes. I won't."

Nobody here does, and you McCain sycophants need to get over that delusion. The fact that Obama is an outright Marxist doesn't somehow make McCain a great guy, though. McCain's an arrogant moron, and a terrible candidate; I'm convinced he'll make a terrible president. That doesn't mean I won't vote for him (I might), and it doesn't mean I like Obama (I most certainly don't). But McCain is a steaming turd of a candidate.

Have you guys seen the video? There’s no other way to interpret it - McCain was clearly and obviously leaving the door open to higher payroll taxes. Whether he meant it or not (apparently not), whether it was a senior moment or a lapse of some kind or whatever, he said what he said in a rather extended conversation. He steadfastly refused to take tax increases off the table when given the chance. He has now repudiated the idea, but don’t try to deny the interview happened or that he was misunderstood.
