McCain camp: Obama playing 'race card' (calls Obama divisive)

As Democrat Barack Obama accuses Republican John McCain of trying to scare voters, McCain's campaign manager is now accusing Obama of raising race.

Campaign manager Rick Davis issued a statement today saying, "Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It's divisive, negative, shameful and wrong."

At issue are comments that Obama made in Missouri on Wednesday.

"Nobody thinks that Bush and McCain have a real answer to the challenges we face. So what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me," Obama said. "You know, he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, you know, he doesn't look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills."

If McCain is playing the race card, then Obama is playing the Messiah card.

I was talking about my ears and the McCain campaign knows it. This is obvious ear-ism that is being practiced by the McCain campaign. Ear-ist behavior must be stopped where found. McCain is acting like a typical small eared person.

Uhhbama.

Obama plays the race card all the time—its one of the few cards he has to play. If it wasn’t for race, he would not be where he is today—Expect more of this in the weeks to come.
John must counter this least he be painted as a racist.

“...he doesn’t look like all those other presidents on the dollar bills.”

Oh, I don’t know, I think if you put a beard on Obama, he and Lincoln could be brothers.

You know, he's not patriotic enough, he's got a funny name, you know, he doesn't look like

Let us begin with point one:

As a matter of fact, Senator Obama, I AM QUESTIONING YOUR PATRIOTISM!

When you sit at the feet of a “minister” who damns America for 20 years, I QUESTION YOUR PATRIOTISM.

When you establish and nurture relationships with people like Bill Ayers, a domestic terrorist, who is on record as saying “Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon”, I QUESTION YOUR PATRIOTISM.

When you stand with politicians and prevent this nation from securing its own sources of energy, and thus become energy-independent, I QUESTION YOUR PATRIOTISM.

When you publicly declare “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction” and say nothing about standing with our armed forces who are sacrificing themselves to defend our way of life, I DEFINITELY QUESTION YOUR PATRIOTISM.

Go ahead...Senator, or anyone else on this planet...refute this if you can !!!

Obama uses his father's race as a way to ward off any criticism of his ideas, values, outlook, character, and policies. Thus, if you don't agree with him, he implies you're a racist. How racist is it to use one's race as a way to hide your agenda or to deflect any scrutiny of those ideas? How racist is it to sit in the Reverend Wright's church? In fact, his recent comments sound like something the Reverend Wright would have come up with.

Obama is the ultimate Trojan Horse for the left as they can always claim “racism” when he or his ideas don’t pass the smell test.

“McCain’s campaign manager is now accusing Obama of raising race.”

Don’t be so hard on Obama.

After all he attended a racist church for 20 years, what do you expect?

I think McCain is pretty slick in his campaign and is starting to get under Obama's skin. Have you seen the add that parodies the Britnney Spears defender that is such a flake. It is hilarious!!

McCain has steered clear of race, yet David Gergen on CNN last night ranted and repeated word for word Obama's claim that McCain is trying to scare people about Obama's "funny name" and "Oh by the way did I mention he's black" and then said this is all ruining McCain's reputation.

Pure talking points, McCain said zero about race and denounced anyone who did.

Paul Krugman on Larry King seems to think the latest McCain ad was subliminal racism because it had a black guy (Obama) with white women (Spears and Hilton) in it.

KING: “Now, Paul, he uses Paris and Britney in that ad to begin it.

Again, the same question, what’s going on?

KRUGMAN: You know, what it really is saying is that McCain’s got nothing. I mean they haven’t got anything substantive to run on. You know, he’s trying to say Obama’s bad for the economy. It’s, you know, we’ve had — we’ve had a Republican administration for eight years. It hasn’t done so well. You know, it might work. People — you know, God knows, there’s a little bit of maybe subliminal, you know, black man/white women. Who knows what they think is going to happen here.”
