RACINE, WI - John McCain defended his new television ad and expressed his disappointment in Barack Obama’s campaign rhetoric Thursday.

“I’m very disappointed and race will not have any role in my campaign, nor is there any place for it. I’m disappointed that he’s used (race),” McCain told reporters before takeoff for Orlando, when asked about the statement put out by his campaign manager today accusing his Democratic rival of pulling the “race card.”

Race or conservatism will play no part in his campaign.

Well if you are so concerned about conservatism why don’t you vote for Obama I am sure he will have plenty of it available. McCain may not be a true conservative but he is miles ahead of BHO. Vote for whom you want but when the marxist wins the white house don’t come complaining to us when you are marched off to an re-education camp!

Huh, keeping the Bush tax cuts and drilling for oil is not conservative?

Get over your bitterness.

You gotta admit this was a great ad by McCain. One of the very few things I like about McCain is that he has a wry sense of humor, and that he’s in tune with pop culture. You would never see Bush put up such an ad. McCain might surprise us, though it’ll still be a gametime decision as to whether or not I’ll vote for him.

Race or conservatism will play no part in his campaign.

Probably yer right about conservatism, however McCain for all his faults, at least holds the mantle of political experience and pragmatism (hopefully), while Obama is just a babe in the woods with a lot of groupies screaming his name and fawning all over him

I'll hold my nose and vote McCain

Did you see the CNN interview with McCain where they asked him if Obama played the race card?

McCain just matter of factly says yes they did, and it deserves no place in this campaign.

When the CNN guy said the Obama came denies the charge. McCain shakes the reports hand, walks away, and says “let the American people decide”.

It was priceless watching the CNN guy stand there with his mike in his hand.

I am not bitter, just honest and you know it. I guess I will just live with the fact that the conservative movement is over and the idea of the founder of this site is over too.

All it took was Obama and McCain. Must have been a joke.

“...says race will play no part in his campaign...”

but it sure will play a part in obama’s; if he wins it’s in spite of racism, if he loses it will be because of racism. (watch for scu&bag democrats to exploit every devious propaganda that they can.)

I guess he really is a whining pussy.

----------------------------------------------

Um...yep

UPDATE–Asked to respond to the ad today in Missouri, Obama’s campaign says they believe their Republican opponent is getting increasingly negative.

“You know, I don’t pay attention to John McCain’s ads, although I do notice he doesn’t seem to have anything to say very positive about himself. He seems to only be talking about me. You need to ask John McCain what he’s for and not just what he’s against,” Obama told reporters Wednesday afternoon.

This Obama guy is the biggest wimp I've ever seen run as the head of a major party Presidential ticket. What a fricking baby. He can't help but lash out in a personal manner when the substance of the McCain ad is SPOT-ON.

Wow, I really want to see the video of this exchange. McCain is finally acting like he wants to win this thing.

I’m not wild about him, but I’m glad he is finally standing up to both the media and to the empty suit that houses Obama’s being.

Obama started this nonsense with Wesley Clark’s antics. McCain should have been more forceful in calling Obama’s use of race a disgrace and dishonest rather than “disappointing.”

An observation from someone who is less than impressed by McCain.......

Barry played the race card, and McCain threw it back in his face.

Barry lost this one. And this being the first one, he has lost big time.

Great responding by McCain. I think his campaign has learned from watching Hillary tank against the race card tactics of Barry & co..

I have an idea. Why don't you learn to live with the fact that the world is not here to cater to our personal desires and you take what you can get. Politics is the art of the possible, not the ideal of some adolescent fantasy about how the world ought'er be. Grow up.

I have no affection for McCain, but I will give credit when due and admit I’m wrong on those rare occasions when I am /grin.

I fully expected McCain’s campaign to shut up and go into the fetal position when Barry played the race card. I am pleased to be proven wrong in this instance.

I am somewhat skeptical that this sort of ballsy-ness will be displayed consistently, but I also remain hopeful that he and his people prove me wrong again. Obama’s campaign will inject race many more times before this is over. McCain goes wobbly just once and he is SOL.

I read another posters history of the Race Card smears used by Axelrod’. Its his specialty . He played the same race card crap against Hillary and for his other Black candidates . I think it was the Philly mayors race where he used it non stop . I can't recall the other mayors race he used it in.
