John McCain ad irritates many in Hollywood (as if the Drama Queens in Hollywood matter)

TO HOLLYWOOD it smacked of desperation.
That's why the reaction to a new John McCain ad attempting to portray Barack Obama as a kind of mindless celebrity -- likening him to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears -- drew collective yawns and shrugs of irritation from politically active members of the entertainment industry.
"I didn't think McCain could look silly," mused Norman Lear. "But that ad diminishes him and makes him look silly."
Just for a start, industry types say the ad is wrong: In the Hollywood lexicon, Obama is not a celebrity. He's a rock star. (Note to McCain strategists: That's the difference between Jessica Simpson and Bono.)

Maybe they should make another commercial with a rock star, like they could use Brittney Spears. Oh wait, Brittney Spears IS a musical star. Those hollywood people are really stupid, aren't they. Britney was a singer, not an actress.

I think someone at the L.A. Times has a tingling leg.
Quick, call Crissy Matthews.

The MSM doesn't even try to hide their fawning over Obama.
Andrea Mitchell was almost crying when McCain's campaign spokesperson merely questioned Obama’s excuse for not seeing the troops in Germany. She went as far as to “vouch” that it wasn't for a photo op but today we find out different. Then we have Chrissy Matthews who gets tingles up the leg at the mention of Obama.

Britney is a POP star. Steven Tyler is a ROCK star. It’s a subtle but important difference.
Longevity plays a part, too. Aerosmith has been around for 30-odd years and is still popular, but 30 years from now Britney will be a footnote in musical history.

So was Paris Hilton, for about a month.

Norman Lear is still trying to figure out why the audience for ALL IN THE FAMILY wound up liking Archie Bunker more than Meathead.
To: supremedoctrine
