I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.

He seemed mildly irritated that I would question that and asked if I wanted to talk to (name garbled) and I said yes. Got a phone tree that led to leaving a recorded message. I did...

"There's a Republican revolt going on in the House Chamber. I understand that the cameras are turned off. You can still cover the story. Thank you."

No they won't. I'll bet they're popping the corn and breaking open the brews to see the Republicans melt down over the normal close of the legislative session. We're the ones whipping up the storm. I'm sure it is a huge laugh to DU that this is going on. The debate could have just as easily been over some miniscule subject like parking privileges at US airports for House members when the session closed for normal vacation. Because it was the drilling issue, it made the blogs go into global meltdown .... over nothing!
