Geeze....don’t pick someone from the peanut gallery...regardless of how young or conservative he might be.Pick someone with “gravitas”.Romney would be good.Various Governors and Senators would also be good.

Are they still really vetting or is this just a diversion or trick? I’m still praying for Mitt but then you already knew that. ;)

If McCain wants a veteran congressman, My choice would have been John Kasich...

I hope McCain is checking out lots of folks. This way he’ll have lots of names, not only for VP candidates, but for Cabinet positions, etc.

In my most humble opinion....some teenie-tiny GOP kiss-a$$ keeps pushing this no name state rep. .....whoever is doing this, needs to take a reality pill.

He spoke yesterday at the press conference following the Take Over of the House after the Dems shut them out. I was impressed with his demeanor and ability to get the point across succinctly.

Don’t know much about him but his performance yesterday made me notice him.

Oh goodie! We need another LAWYER.

He's young (45) but has no experience except as a lawyer (for a family business) and as a House member.

This is not a record I'd want to try to sell as a heartbeat away from the Presidency when Obama's inexperience is his major weakness. This guy makes Obama look experienced!

“Does anyone know much about this gentleman?”

Conservative, Southern, Jewish.

(Perfect, according to Mrs. MWT.)

Seems like a long shot but he is a good pic. I know a lot of people that know him and speak highly of him.

Mitt Romney is the only conservative left in the VP race. Guaranteed, if McLame makes the fatal mistake of choosing a moderate he will lose this election. There is already too much of a rift in the Republican party between its large conservative voting base and it's leftist representative leadership. It's too bad that the Republican powers that be have chosen to swing left at a time when the Democratic party could have been completely obliterated if the Republicans would have had some clear conservative candidates. Those RINOs will never learn.

He is my in-laws congressman and they think highly of him. He went “to bat” for my father-in-law. My father-in-law was born in Canada, but has lived in this country since the late 1920’s. The father of my father-in-law was an American citizen. A couple of years ago, my father-in-law applied for a passport. (Before I forget, my father-in-law fought for this country during WWII.) The passport office gave my father-in-law the run-around. They were not going to issue him a passport because my father-in-law could not produce a birth certificate for his father. They did not issue birth certificates when my husband’s grandfather was born. My father-in-law did have a certificate of his father’s baptism in CT. Anyway, we contacted Congressman Cantor’s office and Congressman Cantor called the passport office personally. My father-in-law had his passport the next week.

Hell yes, 2Div. He's my Congressman.
Good man, very conservative, signed on to the GasPriceProtest.
Supports drilling, pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, very articulate, very dedicated to the citizens of our Commonwealth, the 7th District, and America.
I couldn't think of a better choice.
I met him at the 7th District Round-Up last year.
I spoke to him for about 5 minutes about legislation concerning veterans benefits.
He listened, agreed to contact KY Rep. Geoff Davis who sponsored the legislation to sign on as a supporter.
