He was great in “ Shalshank (sp) Redemption:, how about Driving Ms. Daisy. He is truly one of the best. I can only hope and pray that he will enjoy a full and complete recovery. God Help and look after Mr. Freeman.

Morgan Freeman is critically ill after a car crash... "Ill"? British English? We would say "MF is in 'critical condition' following a car crash."
I read through the article to see if there were any complications following the injury which might be called an "illness", but I didn't see any and that is good news.
71 is not that old and I hope his relative "youth" assists in a rapid recovery.
