Yeah, I’m sure that golden age never really existed....

IIRC, the talk ended with sending him back to his office to contemplate the loaded revolver thoughtfully left on his desk blotter...

Skepticism not required for this one.

I agree. I am surprised many here are criticizing Edwards for the choice. Life is Good!

Assuming he had anything to do with the choice, of course...

Jesse Jackson ("stay out'a da bushes")’s “love child”

There fixed it to my recollection of events.

"It is a child that did not get aborted because it was inconvenient, and that is an unmitigated good."

Yes, the fact that the child wasn't aborted is good. However, the mother's not aborting probably had more to do with getting financial support from a wealthy Edwards than anything else.

The kid did us all a favor by helping pancake the political career of an anti-american socialist. We will be forever grateful.

a great service by stepping forward and taking responsibility, instead of running and hiding from the press.

That's an excellent point. He could put an end to it by manning up. Thanks.

I suppose you can reserve judgement then until there is an investigation by an authoritative source like the New York Times.

The NYT did publish on page 1 the allegations by “two unnamed sources” that John McCain had a lobbyist mistress

I have a problem with conservatives making their case with something from a supermarket tabloid.

It turns out this "supermarket tabloid" NEVER runs with anything that could end them up in a losing position in court, having been sued so many times in the past. They have been the first to break many stories that end up being carried by the MSM. Except this time MSM doesent want anything to get in the way of their coronation of Obamamessiah, so they wont cover it.

That means they are telling the TRUTH about this. You have a problem with the truth ?

Thanks for going easy on my ‘pious preaching’ but in some ways we the public elevate these ego-driven characters who run for public office to the status of super stars and then wonder why they believe they are invincible.

It takes a lot of grounding (which some may lack) in reality and the fundamentals of meaning truth and promise not to fall into the “I can do anything” category.

The trouble is - many innocents are taken on that bumpy trip too.

Public servants are simply human beings after all. It is why this country has no kings and queens - we all appreciate equality and primogeniture is a concept thought up by madmen.

why is everyone so interested in these trashy stories from trashy magazines?

Because a potential VP or Attorney General is screwing around on his terminally ill wife, having children out of wedlock, paying hush money and lying about it to the world.

You want this guy in a position of power?

That "Trashy Magazine" was the first magazine to reveal the Lewinski Scandal and was the magazine that revealed the hypocrisy of Jesse Jackson's love child scandal that he was covering up while "counselling bill clinton..

Thank God for some honest reporting, it is the Drive Bys that deserve your contempt for suppressing this, and plenty of other stories, for political expediency.

I am not surprised that you are talking "decorum" when the word "bastard" has come to become, at worst meaningless, and at best a permanent meal ticket at taxpayer expense.
Viewed as a major problem by most of "responsible" society.

"It's for the children?" The fatuousness of that line should be clear to everyone by now; it is simply license to sweep serious and growing problems under the rug, and to punish society as a whole in the process.

Not a problem, you say?
No big deal?

Well, at the very least, whether the parents are responsible and do not allow society to bear the burden of properly raising the illegitimate, we certainly can expect better from our elected leaders. They must think so, too, or they would not try to keep certain things hidden.

No loss. It was an empty suit, anyway.

All the posters feeling sorry for the innocent children involved should be comforted by the idea that if this is all false, John Edwards can sue the Equirer for libel and make those children all rich

Not one person has posted even one negative comment about the child.

With the publishing of these pictures, Edwards has a great defamation case if the National Enquirer is wrong. Edwards’ failure to sue must be construed as an admission that he is the father, especially given his reputation as a litigator.

The same talk Khruschev had with the Soviet general in “Enemy at the Gates?”

“The Boss expects a report. Perhaps you’d like to spare us the red tape.”
