Will Paris Hilton’s energy plan work?
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 08.06.08 | Eoin O'Carroll

CLICK THE PICTURE FOR VIDEO OF PLAN: I support the Paris Hilton Energy Plan ..... I am not kidding....

.

.

As you probably know by now, the 2008 US presidential campaign became a three-way race Tuesday, as Paris Hilton, irked by John McCain’s use of her image as electoral fodder, threw her hat in the ring.

Ms. Hilton declared her candidacy on Will Ferrell’s website.

The video shows the blonde socialite lounging by a pool in a leopard-print swimsuit and high heels at her home in the Hamptons as she announces that she is, “Like, totally ready to lead.” After pausing briefly to finish reading an article in Condé Nast Traveller on where to fly to to get the best tan, Hilton outlines her energy policy:

.

says Paris Hilton:.... Barack wants to focus on new technologies to cut foreign-oil dependency, and McCain wants offshore drilling. Well, why don’t we do a hybrid of both candidates’ ideas? We can do limited offshore drilling with strict environmental oversight, while creating tax incentives to get Detroit making hybrid and electric cars. That way, the offshore drilling carries us until the new technologies kick in, which will then create new jobs and energy independence. Energy crisis solved.

(Apparently, she recited all this without cue cards.)

The solution to our energy problem is for the government to get out of the way and let the free marked solve the problem.

That means gutting the regulations down to those that are really needed, and allowing oil companies to drill.

We do not need more government subsidies for politically correct alternative energy technologies. Let the market decide which technologies have merit and which don't rather than having legislators force us down paths that favor their constituents or their favorite lobbyists most.

She does seem to have more of a clue than Obama, so maybe McCain does owe her an apology somewhat.

All these goofy energy plans are driving me nuts. They remind me of all the stupid fad diets you hear about. The answer is eat less and exercise...DUHH..and drill more and use less. Simple.

At least Paris's resume’ contains more than one paragraph. Another plus is she doesn't belong to a church that hates white people and America. She would get my vote if she was running against the hollow man Berry Hussein Osama.

The problem with the plan is it doesn’t make incentives for the right thing. Instead of trying to get companies to build a slew of electric cars running on current dirty battery technology, how about broad-based fuel replacement incentives that cover everything from microalgae farms to efficient nuclear power plants? How about instead of hitching your plan to one technology like hybrid or electric cars, make incentives for every type of alternate locomotion, including flywheel energy storage and alternate paths within communities to accommodate smaller, 30mph max vehicles that don’t have to pass 60mph crash safety tests against an SUV.

Her plan sounds more like McCain's then Obie's. McCain should pick her for VP.

Actually, she could easily run on her own for the presidency. She'd be a celebrity with more credibility than that other celebrity, Obama.

She could easily be the Pat Paulsen of this election cycle and she'd get more votes than the Green Party candidate or the Reform Party candidate, or the Libertarian Party candidate.

With Britney Spears in the Mickey Mouse Club, and Paris Hilton in her movie and commercials, they both have vastly more professional experience than Obama’s 145 days in the US Senate.

Sadly Paris only 27 years old and is not able to meet the constitutional requirements

Pickens irritates me no end, but there is a use for wind power. Instead of loading the grid with its juice, invert the energy into recharging hybrid batters. Have trucks on routes dropping off your drained batts and picking up your charged ones.

Personally, I find her repulsive.

Her beauty may be skin deep, but she a skank down to the bone.

creating tax incentives to get Detroit making hybrid and electric cars...

The blond thinks Electricity grows on trees. She's gonna have a problem driving her Hybrid to Maui to get a tan.

Somebody told her not to fight him but to join him

It could be a boon for John and Paris if properly spun

Of course the hate everything since 1955 Freepers will not like it and the Brigadeers who hate everything after 1935 will absolutely unequivocally hate it.

Constitutional requirements? That hasn't stopped Obama. As far as is known, he's not even American born.
