In an interview with Politico and Yahoo News released Thursday, Rice was asked if she would feel secure with a president Obama.
"Oh, the United States will be fine," she responded. "I think that we are having an important debate about how we keep the country safe," she said, pointing to the Middle East and Iraq.

And to think some wanted her to be veep.
I’m surprised. And I think it’s pretty fine sportswomanship on her part. Admirable.
Why don’t she go ahead and endorse him. She never belonged in the republican party anyway. And she has been a lightweight in both of her jobs as Nat Sec Adv and
Sec of State. Like Obama , a real product of affirmative action.
Maybe. But why take the chance?
I disagree. Obama has taken positions that would undermine basic national security if they were implemented.
Heck, maybe Condi thinks Obama will also throw Michelle under the bus, and she will be there waiting in the wings.
Didn’t think Condi would be a “identity politics” kind of person, putting skin melanin content over principles.
DUMP RICE NOW!
She’s done quite enough damage already, thank you very much!
Is anyone else distrurbed by the fact that the headline makes it appear that Rice is endorsing Obama, while the article makes it appear she’s being “diplomatic?”
“Admirable.” sarc off
Yes , we would be very safe while President Obama negotiates
our surrended with our enemies and terrorist and while he gets very busy disarming us by scrapping our military.
Plus the added bonus of pulling our troops from Iraq.
He is on record of saying he will do all these things.
That’s pretty ugly to say about her. She may not be “all that”, but she doesn’t qualify as a lightweight nor an affirmative action product, either.
What part of your ability to earn a million a year life have you given up to serve our Nation?
SOME wanted her to run for President!!!
(Some on FR... you know who you are!)
And to think that some on this forum were pushing her as a potential GOP presidential candidate, or at least VP.
Bah!
Race trumps all. Condi is ok with Obama, wonder why?
I wouldn't even say it is 'diplomatic', the title is incorrect as to what she said. She just said the US would be fine, she didn't say 'it would be fine under Obama'. There is a BIG difference in the two statements.
Yes, I am. This is exactly what John Q. Public, who’s too lazy to read the entire article, will think.
the US would be safe... the people hwoever would be F***’D
I saw that quote of hers, and took it the same way,
basically, the United States will be fine IN SPITE OF AN OBAMA PRESIDENCY,
(and she’s willing to chance that in order to have a high melanin content President for the first time in history)
Rice and Powell are two idiots. Yes idiots. Powell is a treasonous turn-coat, while Rice is Albright-lite. I had high hopes for her while she was Security adviser, but since she got into Foggy Bottom she has turned into a typical State Department bot. If I have my facts straight she is also socially liberal.
I only they’d at least shoot peas. They keep falling all over themselves (especially condi) to make us think the Rats have America’s interest in mind.
What's she supposed to say? Imagine if she said.
You would hear about it for weeks. They'd be calling her a racist and everything else in the book.
I agree that the Sec State must be VERY careful about what she says about an upcoming election. If she comes out and says we are in mortal danger if Obama is elected, what signal does that send to our enemies if it comes to pass? Mis-statements by diplomats have a way of becoming self-fulfilling prophecies.
On the other hand, knowing this full well, I would have preferred that she say nothing at all on this subject.
Seems like we are seeing a trend here: Armstrong Williams, JC Watts, and now Condi.
Disappointing, but we still have logical folks like Michael Steele, Ken Blackwell, and Thomas Sowell.
The question is whether our foreign policy is safe under Rice.
Exactly.. of course, this won't stop the knee jerk Olympics.
“Is anyone else distrurbed by the fact that the headline makes it appear that Rice is endorsing Obama, while the article makes it appear shes being diplomatic?”
That was my impression. What the mainstream media reports cannot be fully trusted. People need to be discerning about what is said and the way it’s presented.
Please: NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.
No, we are seeing a trend in the media twisting quotes to make it appear their annointed one is blessed by these folks.

and Obama will use in his next speech
Oh, I think some “knee jerking” is highly in order,
because it’s obvious that she’s willing to risk the security and prosperity of America in order to have someone with approximately the same skin color as she has as president.
And I was one of those that thought she’d make a good president, way back when.
Nope , she is lightweights. Name “anything”
she has succeeded at.
I’m not in agreement with the left that pointing out racism is itself “racist”.
That’s a “debating technique” used by the left to silence dissent.
If we are so great how come we have an idiot like Obama getting the Democrat nomination? And how come we have an idiot like Condi Rice for Secretary of State?
I appreciate your thoughtful comments about Condi Rice.
I may not agree with all of her stances, but she’s still an admirable person.
exactly right ari-freedom...
{shaking head sadly...}
She has no control over what the MSM says or does. READ the article, she didn’t say what the title leads us to believe.
Obama will say whatever an idiot needs to say to get elected, regardless of what Dr. Rice or the MSM says.
The header said to read the article she said
“I don’t need another job in government with anybody. Look, I’m a Republican, all right? Senator McCain is a fine patriot and he would be a great president,” she said.
“But there’s something to be said for fresh blood,” Rice added in reference to the running mate talk. “And I know that there are a lot of very good people who could be his vice president.”
OK, so the US president has a lot of power. Positions are all well and good but it's congress that makes the laws and raises money, and it's the courts that rule on compliance. Her point is that the president is not omnipotent and there's no point in saying we're moving to Canada if Obama's elected because it won't wash.
America is powerful, stable, a tremendous force for good, and not even an Obama presidency can change that.
This woman seems to be a MISTAKE !
A big GWBUSH’ mistake.Don’t know where she stands!
Black solidarity/racism above all?
What kind of unity that kind of people can bring to USA ?
NO UNITY
Yeah, I wish she’d come out directly for McCain, but she did pretty deftly not answer ‘Yes, the US will be safe under Obama’, at least.
The same way we got a Carter, Clinton, etc, etc as President. We are great in spite of what happens in DC, not because of it. That is the key to our greatness. Unlike other countries, whose greatness is tied up in their halls of power, our greatness comes from our citizens who get up every day, got to work, and make this country great.
