Memories of an alleged kidnapping in 1978 that became universally known as the 'Mormon sex-slave case' were stirred following the appearance of Bernann McKinney on television screens and in newspapers around the world with the five pit bull puppies that were cloned from her much-loved dog Booger's frozen DNA.
Reports from Seoul, explaining that Ms McKinney had paid £25,000 for the procedure to create five genetically identical replicas of her pet in the first transaction of its kind led to furious speculation about her true identity.
To those who remembered the sex slave scandal, Ms McKinney's face looked familiar. The features were older and heavier, but they were remarkably similar to a former Miss Wyoming whose antics provided shock and titilation in equal measure in the late 1970s.
Could it be that dog-loving Bernann McKinney from California was the same woman as Joyce McKinney, who made a notorious appearance at Epsom Magistrate's Court in 1979?
Joyce McKinney was charged with false imprisonment after she was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 17-stone Mormom missionary called Kirk Anderson.
The pair had had an affair in the US and Anderson had moved to England shortly afterwards. But Joyce McKinney followed the object of her desire to Surrey.
After arriving in England, Joyce McKinney and her friend Keith May choloroformed the missionary and took him to a cottage they had hired.
May chained the prisoner to the bed and Joyce McKinney tried to get him to marry her.
At first, she read scriptures to him as she attempted to persuade him that he should father her children.
After repeated rejections, her tactics changed. She changed into a see-through nightie, played some romantic music, spread-eagled her captive on the bed, sexually stimulated him and forced him to have sex.

My guess is that the dogs are a first run test. She has probably got some peice of flesh from the mormon guy still around that she want to use to clone him!
