Fresh off a big-buck fundraiser in Minneapolis, Democrat Barack Obama dropped in on a humble St. Paul pancake house Thursday to chat with diners about their concerns.
The presidential contender spent more than 40 minutes making his way from table to table at the Copper Dome Restaurant, shaking hands and even picking up a baby as photographers, videographers and reporters crammed between diners to follow his every move.
"This seems like a pretty good spot. This is where the happening people meet," Obama said shortly after walking into the restaurant, a neighborhood fixture.
Word of Obama's visit spread quickly and people started showing up to see him. Neighborhood resident Sarah Burke saw the commotion when she went to mail a package and crossed the street with her 7-month-old son, Weston, to find out what was going on.
A short while later, Weston was in Obama's arms.
"Are you voting? Are you voting, too?" Obama asked the baby. "What's going on?"
Weston looked around, then stretched his arms toward his star-struck mother, who couldn't stop saying, "Oh my gosh."
A day earlier, the Illinois senator meet privately with more than 350 donors who gave between $1,000 and $28,500 at the Hilton Minneapolis Hotel -- a far cry from the scene in St. Paul, where diners included several teachers, a couple who owns a small business, a college professor and a pair of law students.

You’d think that after Kerry’s debacle that Obie Ben Barakie would steer clear of any pancake forum.
Waffles, and all.....

The reason for the post: he just had an event the other day, where a journalist (sure) interrupted him and said that the Pledge had not been said yet. The Tire Gauge Guru made a big (fake) deal over it, enlisting the “journalist” to lead the crowd in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Just wondering if he was consistent here.

To: exit82
No mention of the “Pledge”.
But, he was in St.Paul, where you may not mention crime perpetuated by illegals.
Where the city council, along with the mayor have welcomed the anarchists to the RNC.
They have never welcomed the RNC and cannot figure out why their pleas for volunteers for the RNC have produced zip.
To: elkfersupper
Not sure...
I’ll check.
;-)
To: ButThreeLeftsDo
Seems like a dumb move by the RNC to reward them with a convention...of any kind.

The RNC was ignorant, coming here.
The streets are full of hippies, staging for September.

"Are you voting? Are you voting, too?" Obama asked the baby. "What's going on?"
I have a feeling the baby will be voting in November, as will several of his dead relatives. ACORN surely signed him up right after breakfast.

So he wanders into some hole-in-the-wall hash house and says, "This is where the happening people meet"?!?
Another insult of Average Jose. His elitism and superiority are so ingrained, he doesn't even realize what he said.
