Posted on 08/09/2008 4:51:46 AM PDT by kellynla
Sen. John McCain visited Liberty Township for a Thursday fundraiser, but a fellow Republican will not be in attendance.
Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones took out a half-page newspaper ad blasting the presidential candidates stance on illegal immigration, and similar ads are planned for other Ohio and New York newspapers.
Before I'm a Republican, I'm an American, and this is an American issue, and I can say what I think, Jones said.

"Jones, who wants the border sealed and illegal immigrants deported"
And I concur!
‘bout time.......neither presidential candidate nor the mainstream media will talk about this issue in any meaningful way...
Just what are presidentail campaigns for?
Perhaps if McMaverick would just shut his yap for the next 80, or so days, he might squeak out a win.
Why isn’t he “blasting” both McCain and Obama?
Obama is even worse.
Seems it's air pressure on the Left, and a$$ kissing the Democrats on (what once was) the Right.
Uhhh, what about the Obamanation????
He is even worse on this subject than McCain.
And Sheriff Daniel Beck in Allen County...
Ohio sheriffs are kicking illegal alien butts...
One of the most recent things has been the new Gang of 10 in the Senate who tried to direct energy/oil policy with a “Bipartisan Energy Plan”. [Pubbies blinked —— again.]
I can't see Graham ramrodding this kind of activity with McCain's approval/consent. Graham has had his head so far up McCain for years, hoping for a high position in a McCain Administration. For that reason, I don't see Graham being a major player in the Gang of 10 — which seems to contradict McCain's more recent, stated positions on energy — and going against McCain.
Before I’m a Republican, I’m an American, and this is an American issue, and I can say what I think, Jones said.
Amen to that Brother.........
Precisely why you wont hear about this issue from either of them and the Press agrees so no one will ask about it either.
The Fix is in ,we are all SUCKERS ,we are being sold out by all these self serving Parasites know as Government servants or better known as Politicians. Why do you think this is happening ? Well Issues like CAP and Trade , Illegal Immigration these are all government money grabs to gain back some of the cash they have squandered for decades on Give awawy social programs .So its time to just fall into line comrades otherwise there will be no Social Security check or Medical coverage unless we can rape the NEW ImmIgrants of their fair share ,or rape the Amercan worker once more in the Name of GLOBAL WARMING under Cap and trade ,What a SCAM THat Is , Global warming ,they must Have had a Real laugh in the Senate Cloak room coining that Phrase ,and all the suckers have bought that one hook line and sinker . So to sum it all up Dont worry be happy!
yeah I dont think Mcstain will listen to his conservative vp....so its a loss anyway.
George Soros is sitting pretty after the election no matter if obamanation or pawpaw win. His money is funding both of them
McMaverick is counting on the publics short memory, and lack of reading/ listening to his words and deeds of the past.
He has already destroyed any semblance of Conservatism in the RINO Party, so voting a lesser of evils is just about as evil as it gets.
I suppose fixing up the old building is not worth the cost anymore. It needs to be torn down and rebuilt in accordance with the original plans.
R’s goooooooooodddddd. D’s baaaaaaaaddddddd.
Look at how many are advocating the McMaverick is suddenly going to turn in to some conservative wonder, when elected. His history of the last 8 years shows he won’t. His pal Lindsay is still bending over to reach out across the aisle with the new Gang of 10. Yet, many will ‘hold their noses’ (what a crock — they deserve what they get, then) and vote for McCain.
Modified version of the definition of insanity: voting for the same and expecting a different result.
If elected, McMaverick is only going to be more maverick — with the bully pulpit. Conservatives better hope he provides KY. They will need it during the next 4 years.
Please see post#15?
why are you mentioning Graham? Has he already been picked? Its a good choice for Mccain I would hate to see a good conservative get ruined.
Obama is even worse.”
Hey, I don't write the articles...I just post ‘em. LOL
But, I guess because the Sheriff is a Republican and Republicans & conservative Independents EXPECT more from the GOP than the ‘Rat party!
We just finished 7 years of a GOP POTUS who refused to seal the borders, deport ALL illegals & fine ALL employers who hire illegals; we don't want another GOP POTUS following suit for another 4 years!
I hear you my friend. lol btw does it make your skin crawl every time mcstain says “my friends” hell that could be a drinking game one shot every time he says “my friends”, you would snockered in about 15 min. I think too many conservative are too confortable in their life to tear down their party, they fear obama too much to do anything. If I wasn’t in Iraq right now I would seriously protest Mccain at the convention, but I am sure many would call me a mouthpiece for the dems, a dem operative ect. I surely wish our conservatives picked up their balls and protested.
You stay safe. We Americans love you all dearly, and wish you God speed to come home and rebuild.
BTW ... Thanks for your great web page.
This old Sea Bee salutes you!
Ping...second thread on Sheriff Jones...
I never expected the GOP to nominate someone this far to the left on illegal aliens and incapable to fight WOT. The biggest threat to this country comes from the open borders and illegal aliens. The planes on 9/11 did not take off from Iraq but from American soil.
Obama is even worse.
I guess we expect more from the Republicans than the dems (but after the last 7 years I don't know why.)
I think we all know McCain is horrible on the border issues- my question is who is better that has any chance of being elected?
I decided to go with McCain because I am convinced Obama will trash the military and I am sure McCain will be a better President for our military.
Both are crap this election is a joke.
You don't need the campaign, you can look at how they voted.
They both support the amnesty part of comprehensive immigration reform, with slight differences.
MaCain supports a guest worker program, but Obama, dems, and unions want to limit that because guest workers are hard for the union to organize. Obama voted for the the Dorgan amendment to sunset the guest workers.
McCain supports employee verification and linking Real ID to verification. Obama voted for the Tester amendment to block Real ID and co-authored the amendment to block verification.
On border enforcement, Obama is philosophically opposed to more, but will go along with it because it creates lots and lots of good govt union jobs.
“Sheriff Blasts McCain For Silence On Illegal Immigration (Ohio)”
If only McCain would have been silent.
Why isnt he blasting both McCain and Obama?
Obama is even worse.
Obama is EXPECTED to be horrible on the subject. The Republican Nominee for POTUS is not.
“His lack of knowledge regarding borders of Iraq”
He’s not real big on borders.
I agree with you on all that, and yet I am convinced Obama would be so much worse.
Great election we have coming up- neither candidate has any business being President. Not even close.
Needs to blast Obama too....
Obama didn’t write the legislation and it isn’t his driving issue. McCain makes it worse for himself by “blaming” Obama for the failure of the amnesty legislation.
I wouldn’t blast McCain for his silence on illegal immigration. I’d blast him for the times he opens his mouth about it.
I guess he wants Obama to be elected.
The difference is, McCain voters (some of the, probably many/most of them) do care. Obama voters don’t (which is not really true, as some of my democrat friends are very adament about *those people* being here—but they will still vote for Obama because...well....he makes them feel hopeful)!
How much are you paid to post such garbage?
I see you failed to provide a reasoned response to my post. Noted.
