Gallup Daily: Obama 47%, McCain 42% (McCain has not led since May, underperforming Bush everywhere)
Gallup ^ | August 9, 2008 | Gallup

Comments:

Getting concerned as McCain has not led since May. Even the electoral college tally on Rasmussen has had Obama solidly ahead like a rock.

McCain is underperforming Bush in almost all Republican and swing states, including CO, NV, NM, OH, WI, MT, IA, IN, GA, NC, VA, and so on.

Despite an impressive anti-Obama ad barrage, McCain has still not managed to demonstrate a winning electoral college mosaic so far.

Huh... they were tied last week.

If you are concerned now, just use it for positive good.
We were further behind in 1988.

Obama is still favored to win, be he has NOTHING THERE. He’s a vacuous and dnagerous extremist empty suit, who will be a disaster as President. He is wrong on marriage, life, judges, spending, taxes, energy, immigratio, social issues, GWOT, Iraq and just about everything else.

Polls at this point have been a VERY poor indicator of the final winner.

We haven’t even had a single debate yet.

Gallup had Kerry leading Bush in 2004, and we all know what happened there.

He would’ve been had he ignored the stupid macaca crud and then went on air thinking he was going to win more women’s vote buy promoting women in combat. One can always count on stupid mistakes by politicians to mess up the best of plans. I voted for Allen and supported him. He really should be the one running against Mark Warner but Jim Gilmore is solid. He just needs air time and lots of it to inform people about Mark Warner’s lies and tax increases and also to tie him to radical environmentalists who have strangled our energy policy. ALl Republicans should be supporting an America First Energy plan.

Nah. Obama is ahead, but not solidly. Not even close.

There are enough states out there that even a one point shift from Obama to McCain gives McCain their EVs and with it the election.

The Obama campaign has to be concerned that Florida, Missouri, Virginia, Nevada, and Colorado are all starting to drift away from them. Ohio is probably their best bet to flip enough EVs to win the election, but McCain has been running strong there as well.

This race is very close to being dead even right now.

McCain is up with leaners in Rasmussen and tied otherwise and most states are getting closer even true blue states like Mass.

I’m not crazy about McCain but I hope he CRUSHES Obama, because of what Obama stands for (which is nothing except more government and anti-Americanism).

Reminds me of "Don't worry, George Allen will be fine."

This race is for keeps...I think people are going to consider things very carefully.

Yes. Kerry led Bush by double digits after his victory in the Iowa Caucus.

Gallup did the poll.
