Obama Campaign Censors Own Site Administrator’s “Israel Lobby” Quote

Obama site moderator also calls pro-Clinton group “virulent”

We are no longer talking about the Obama campaign’s tolerance of user-generated hate speech at My.BarackObama.com, which is reprehensible enough. We are now talking about official statements from the official campaign staffers who moderate and administer the site.

We reported previously (http://www.israpundit.com/2008/?p=1714) that Emily, an Obama campaign staffer who moderates My.BarackObama.com, counseled a user to use “Israel Lobby” instead of “Jewish Lobby.” The Obama campaign apparently felt that it had to delete a verbatim quote from one of its own staffers after it appeared here and elsewhere. A screen shot of the posting appears below.

On another note, Obama’s moderators have made it eminently clear that they censor material not for “offensive” or “disrespectful” content, but for criticisms of Obama.

This won't cost Obama any votes if it stays here. Please circulate where Hillary Clinton's supporters will see what the purveyors of party unity say behind their backs, when they aren't begging for their votes. Also let Jewish voters know that the Obama campaign officially sanctions use of the phrase "Israel Lobby" as code for "Jewish Lobby."

Please get a life. Lots of Jewish people are not pro-Israel. Many support giving up a great deal of land to Palestinians, in opposition to the current position of the Israeli government. Some are opposed to the very existence of an Israeli state. What’s wrong with the Obama campaign staff asking its site moderators to use a more accurate term?

“Israel Lobby” is the title of a very controversial book by Walt and Mearsheimer. It also ties in with frequent accusations about “Jews with divided loyalties” dictating American policy.

There are in fact Jews who support the destruction of Israel. A Jewish Voice for Peace wrote a piece that praised or at least apologized for the terrorist group Hamas. These are the same kind of Jews who would probably vote for Hitler if he was running with a D instead of an N after his name—the kind about whom people here at FR often complain.

The National Jewish Democratic Council, for example, backs Obama even though he posed arm in arm with Al Sharpton, a prominent anti-Semite (and racist).
