West Virginia started Friday keeping driver's license photos out of a computer database for members of a small religious group who believe digital storage is a "mark of the beast" that evokes biblical prophecy.
State Division of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Joseph Cicchirillo said the group of about 50 or 60 Christians, who are not affiliated with a particular church, contacted the agency two or three years ago to object to their pictures "being on a database that can be exchanged throughout the world or hacked into."
One of the group members is Phil Hudok, who made headlines in 1999 when he was fired as a Randolph County school teacher for refusing to require his students to wear bar-coded identification badges. Hudok was later reinstated after a circuit judge said the school board had made no attempt to accommodate his religious beliefs.
Hudok and other members of his group have said bar codes and digital storage of photos are a way of numbering people, which they liken to a warning in the Bible's book of Revelation about a "mark of the beast" indicating the arrival of the Antichrist.
To accommodate their beliefs, state officials decided to issue driver's licenses to the group members that are exactly like other West Virginia licenses except that the individual photos will be removed from the computer immediately after they are taken by a digital camera.
Instead of being stored digitally, an 8-by-11-inch hard copy of each picture will be printed out and kept in a file. All other information, including birth dates and driving records, will be in the computer system, Cicchirillo said.
Without this accommodation, group members wouldn't get their driver's licenses, which the commissioner said would hamper their ability to get everyday services from insurance coverage to check cashing.

Hopefully theses drivers licenses are clearly marked as being invalid as identification for boarding aircraft.
Every reputable survey of religion in America shows that the nonreligious are the fastest growing segment of the American population. Were it not for immigration, that figure would likely be higher.
People laugh it off but this technology will eventually be used for Mark of the Beast. No one can say exactly what that will be. Barcodes or chip implants seem to be a real possibility.
This isn’t the MOtB, of course. But when it does come all the mocking will cease. God’s Word will come to pass; you can take that to the bank. We just don’t know exactly when.
I would love to be able to assign the License Plate numbers to these people.

Cash is definitely going away. It will all be electronic. That will be the end of paper counterfeiting. It actually is pretty convenient. But after that, once we’re all completely electronic, you could be shut down in the blink of an eye. No direct deposit, no utilities or rent paid, no food at the grocery store or the drive-thrue even (after cash is gone). Locally, in a large city of more than 100,000 I can’t even go into my post office at night and purchase stamps with cash out of the machine that was there for years (found out the other night when all I had was cash on me). Credit or Debit card only.
Now during the day one could still use cash, of course.

Okay so these kooks don;t have a picture stored after getting a license. What happens when they are arrest for a crime? Go through a traffic control staion where it takes photos? Go through an airport security system or a dozen other daily places and activities?

Under the “equal protection” clauses probably in the VA State (or is it commonwealth) Constitution, VA can not do that for some and not make it available to all. And that’s what makes it interesting to me.
Some years ago we discovered that Quakers in Indiana are exempt from applying for marriage licenses. Quakers (actually, Society of Friends)are specifically named in the law. An Indiana Circuit Court judge told me in the Clerk’s office one day that that would actually mean ANYONE could cite that law, and because of the “equal protection” clause in the IN State Con., ANYONE who states a religious objection would be exempt.
I have no doubt that this is true and that the numbers of unbelievers will continue to grow.

I can’t believe they are doing it so that these wierdos can cash their checks. I don’t know of too many reputable places that will cash checks without a photo ID, or are these people going to be allowed to claim civil rights violations? Another example of the Tyranny of the Minority and how unbridled political correctness is destroying us bit by bit. Next thing they’ll ban the use of the phrase “common sense” as it will hurt the feelings of those who don’t have it, like those involved in this stupidity.

There are too many corrupt employees within the DMV selling legitimate IDs knowingly to people of middle easter origin who are ILLEGALLY in this country. Some cases have been prosecuted in Illinois and Tennessee.
The cards are compromised. We should be using passports. We were already checking driver’s licenses for domestic flights in 2001. Fat lot of good it did us.

The mark of the beast is an allegorical(I think that's the term) Figure of speech that readers of that century would of understand, and the number thing they would of understood too since they had meanings for certain numbers back then.
Masters of slaves would mark their slaves on their forehead or hand, What God was and is trying to say through John is that those that are a slaves of Satan or are sons of Satan will have (figuratively speaking) the mark of the beast, Satan. Satan can not mark those that are owned by God because God has sealed us.
What goods does it do to live by physical bread alone, you will still die eventually, but if you live by the living bread which only Jesus can give you, you will never die.

Electronic currency is not safe either. Too much compromising of security by theives who hack databases stealing the access to 25,000 accounts at a time. From anywhere in the world.
If you use an ATM or have a bank card you are at risk. The mere act of HAVING an electronic account puts you at risk. And someone can even open a credit card account in your name and put your credit history at risk.

Better reread Revelation 13. If you can’t buy or sell without it, then it’s an outward mark that unbelievers can see / read too. The word underneath it is similar to that for a tatoo.

I don't know enough about digital storage of photos to know whether it is like bar coding or not. Nevertheless, it isn't putting the mark on their forehead or hand, so it would not seem to apply.
Suppose your Debit / Credit Card were implanted under your skin, requiring your self-pronounce or input PIN to operate?
The transmissions are encrypted so that very few have access to them. I worked for a major bank and none of the I/T staff, except the couple guys who worked on it, we even allowed to see the algorithms for the PIN generation. It was kept out of the normal backup libraries.
There will always be some theft, like the ones who have rigged scanners. But they cannot scan the PIN because it’s not on the card. The overwhelming majority of thefts are done because the PIN is not used on the transaction.
Digital photos aren’t MOTB. They do allow the possibility of face recognition calculations without one’s consent. Just wait until a WMD is set off in America of any real size. Folks will be lining up for such. The terrorists are going to make “1984” come true even faster.
Bar codes use a check digit to ensure proper reading. However, since I have programmed them, I can attest that occasionally, *rarely* it is possible to catch the codes at the wrong angle and get a scan that passes the gun and can read as a different product, if that calculated product is in the database. An invalid scan is rejected by the gun immediately (if configured that way). That’s why many of them have confirmation / rejection beeps (also programmable) to give audible signals of success / failure.
The barcodes I worked with for many years (about 7 years) were typical product barcodes. We also used them to generate shipping labels for carriers such as UPS and USPS.
Symbol makes an excellent hand-held scanner and I led the purchasing of it for several areas in my last company (the LS2208). Only about $150.

Hackers have hit the ATM databases for the machines you find in gas stations. They collect both pin and card number.
Any remote transaction requires the pin.
And falsified identification can still get a card to someone other than you.
The whole issue of forgery has been passed from government enforcement (against fake paper money) to the shoulders of the individual (who must now dispute the theft and say “it wasn’t me”).
I believe most of those come from fake ATM’s set up to collect info. They may even give out some cash. But rest assured cash and coin are going away and probably sooner rather than later.
99.99% of the population doesn’t have the faintest idea how to hack this stuff, nor has access to the capability to do so. It will never be stopped 100% of course but they’re alread tightening the screws on theft (which is a good thing).

Its not exactly TMOtB but it is a way of tracking people and they believe they will be rounded up and forced to take the actual mark. I think the article gets this fact mixed up.
The UPC code for a 6 in the left half of the UPC is 0101111 and in the right half is 1010000 (the bit polarity is flipped.) 
Notice the 6's on the left half (white,black,white,black,black,black,black) do not resemble the guard codes.
In your graphic the "typical six" is black,white,black,white,white,white,white. The white spaces between the black lines are just as important and canot be dropped or else it isn't a 6. Notice, the left guard is followed by 3 whites (first three digits of code 0 - left side) the center is followed by 3 blacks (first 3 digits of code 0 - right side) and the right guard is followed by a white quiet zone at least 7 wide as part of the standard.
However, the only single decimal digit that will visually resemble the 101 and 01010 guard codes (white,black,white,black,white) is a six on the right hand side. I still think it's quite a stretch to say the synching codes are sixes since they aren't even considered numbers unless they are 7 bits wide and have correct polarity.
