The secret work of SAS troops battling Al Qa'eda terrorists in Iraq has been exposed by the American commander in the country.
British special forces had played an "immense" role in taking out terrorist bomb-making cells and insurgent leaders over the last five years, said Gen David Petraeus.
In one incident the SAS blended into the heavy Baghdad traffic by hiring a pink pick-up truck and removing their military clothing to capture a terrorist, the general said.

The newspaper revealed it bias in several ways:
1. The headline, exposed? A more apt headline would US General Describes SAS Successes in Iraq?
2. Decribing the casualties a very costly.
Our government has always had a policy of neither confirming nor denying nor even discussing NZ SAS deployments.
I always like the insouciance of the SAS. New motto,
“Who Cares, We Win”
If you want to see a great movie on SAS in Nam. Odd Angry Shot is the name of it.The telegraph? worthless.
That’s one of my favorite movies.
I like the scene where some NCO threatens to bring one of the SAS troopers up on a charge, and the trooper tells him “well, you’d better make it murder,” because he’s going to kill him.

I wish they would continue that policy with the Brit SAS. Revealing details of their operations only helps the enemy.
