The Rev. Robert Jones went to the Capitol last Wednesday hoping to make his voice heard.
What he got instead was a swear-word laden rebuke from Democratic Sen. Pat Wiggins, who interrupted Jones' testimony to say: "Excuse me, but I think your arguments are bull----."
The exchange left Jones, the senior pastor at Oak Park United Methodist Church, stunned and offended. "It is a slap in the face," he said in an interview.
The outburst occurred as Jones, 46, testified at an informational hearing on how California will cut global warming emissions. Jones, who is African American, said he went to urge lawmakers to consider minority communities when drafting those regulations.
"Our communities are the ones who suffer more than any other communities the poor and the underrepresented ," Jones said. "It is important to have our perspective."
But after less than two minutes of speaking and before he could finish Wiggins blurted out her comment.
A stunned Jones turned to Wiggins and could muster only a "well ..." before Sen. Christine Kehoe, a San Diego Democrat and the chairwoman of the hearing, interjected.
"Let me step in here, Pastor Jones, we very much appreciate your presence here today, and you're right. The community should be part of the discussion and it is," Kehoe said.
In an interview, Jones called Wiggins' comments "extremely disturbing" and said he had not yet been contacted by the senator, or her staff, to apologize.

Need more info but maybe it was BS.
Just another racist Dem.
A Democrat saying a bad word? Tsk tsk.
Anyone remember that little girl from “Kids for Kerry” who spoke at the 2004 Democrat convention? She rebuked Dick Cheney for saying a bad word. And the crowd howled and laughed with her about how bad it was for Dick Cheney to say a bad word.
Wonder where that little girl is now. Maybe she’s learning that as good Democrats get older, they are the ones who swear the most.
“World Ends! Women and Minorities hardest hit”
You know, there are ways to tell people that without resorting to that sort of language. Of course, to many nowadays, that phrase isn’t any big deal. However, one should use better manners than that in public and especially addressing a Pastor.
Watch it on Youtube:
Wonder if Wiggins and Kehoe are “a couple.”
I wonder if he ever spoke out about other ‘nigga’s’ calling women “bitches” and “ho’s”
A stunned Jones turned to Wiggins and could muster only a "well ..."
Liberals often use profanity or other intentionally outrageous behaviour to stun those who disagree with them, in order to stifle rational argument.
It does stand to reason that those who can only afford older vehicles, who have older homes with less insulation, older and less efficient heating/cooling systems will be more severly impacted by any regulations which limit energy useage, increase the cost, or tax/prohibit emissions, because they can least afford to implement solutions which will bring them into compliance.
If those economic strata coincide with demographic lines, then minorities may, indeed, be hardest hit (without any attribution as to why the economics and demographics may coincide.)
Just because it is a cliche, that does not mean it isn't true.
Typical Elitist response from the Dummiecrapps who claim to be in touch with society and the poor, and families, etc.
If this was a republican response do you think it might have made the MSM news shows? Duh!
There is no civil debate with the Left.
Why on earth would Pastor Jones expect an apology?
The leftist politician only spoke honestly as to how the left feels about religious people and blacks.
They scam them to get their votes then turn around a give them the shaft. Been doing it since the 1960’s
Man made global warming is BS. Therefore it is BS to suggest "ways" man can repent and climate change no more.
The pastor was saying that any proposed solutions would likely affect his community (as they will also effect any community for the worse).
If there is any BS involved on the pastor's side (in absence of any quotes), it would be in trying to split hairs and suggest that his community would be hit harder than the rest of us.
In the end, the original proposal to change the climate was BS. But the UndemoctratIC Party has spoken, global climate change is caused by man. Now pay up. OR suffer the secular "green" inquisition.
Prime example here of why dimRat Marxists societies are chaos and eventually fail - but at horrendous cost to society trying to survive in the interim
“Wonder if Wiggins and Kehoe are a couple.
They might occasionally get together for a round of golf ... who knows?;)
How sad for our nation that (a) the leftist media will bury this and (b) the few people that learn of it won't care much.
I grow weary of hoping that the people of America will wake up and see what the Democrats of today are really about, even though the evidence is overwhelming. I fear we are about to find out, good and hard, to paraphrase H.L. Mencken.
The entire topic of discussion was Bull----.
Sorry, but that statement triggered the urge to disagree slightly.
I have seen more vile and vulgar back stabbing and personally vindictive subversion right in the middle of public hearings/meetings through the use of phony, sucky, insincere and supposedly diplomatic "civility!"
Please don't take my slight disagreement personally as I'm trying to be "civil" about it!!! (civil grin)
“Excuse me, but I think your arguments are bull——.”
And what if the pastor answered F***Y**, Ho? Would that have been an appropriate response?
Pastors are used to being in charge and usually aren't ready to be bi*** slapped. I find this amusing.
The democratic politican is an idiot.
But why was a preacher testifying before a house committe on global warming issues?
Wiggins can’t even compete!
Well, I think the pastors arguments are bull too. But a person must use just a little more tact when addressing the clergy. Just another symptom of a world gone mad I’m afraid.
Then it wasn't civility, but LACK OF civility, which is exactly what I was pointing out...
Hey! It's a fine art!! Yet is nothing to be the least bit proud of!!!
It may be too hard for you to understand without an example, however, any example here with mere typed words will not get the nuanced, manipulative, malicious, malevolent, merciless concept across. While maintaining civility, that is...
FR goin' t' hell.
Did you come back from the long gone, ta flame somebody??? (grin)
the recent spate of tabloid trash has awakened in me a nostalgic yearning for the "good ol' days" of the original tabloid trash legacy builderbergers . . .
sigh . . .
I know! Tabloid trash is becoming disgustingly legitimate these days!! It’s taking all the phun out of it!!!
