Huggies Wow; I'm a Gymnast Now; Underage Chinese Olympic Gymnasts Rant, Bella Caroli is Right
Associated Content ^ | August 12, 2008 | Michael Luchies

Huggies wow; I'm a gymnast now! I am watching the Olympics right now and couldn't be more upset watching a sporting event. I am not mad that the country I am routing for (United States) is falling apart, not mad because the only event they are showing is gymnastics, but furious because several of the gymnasts are clearly under the 16 year old age requirement. Bella Caroli himself made a comment during the broadcast that the Chinese gymnasts were under 16 but since they had "legitimate" passports, they are allowed to compete. Aren't the Olympics supposed to be the purist form of sports? Will cheating in sports ever end?

Obviously I have absolutely no evidence or proof that any of the gymnasts in the olympics are under the age of 16. But if you are fortunate to have a set of eyes and common sense you can clearly see that the women...sorry little girls that are putting on an amazing show are barely toilet trained. Ok that may be a little harsh but look at them! Many of the Chinese girls do not come up to the shoulders of any other countries athletes. I think I saw someone on the balance beam who didn't have teeth yet. Are they midgets? Is there a national problem in China with women who have stunted growth?

These girls are unbelievable, but still little girls who have no life outside of gymnastics. They are sent by their parents as young as 3 off to train for the Olympics. Sometimes they are even able to see their parents once every other year.

I’ve worked with Chinese women who I know were 30-40 years old who looked like they were twelve. Probably barking up the wrong tree with this one. The American team made fatal mistakes in competition and that’s the real story.

I noticed one of the Chinese gymnasts must have had a padded bra because after her uneven bar routine on the qualifying night, one boob was up and one was down.

Tonight I noticed that the little baby on the team forgot not to smile big and she indeed is missing the same molar tooth my 11-year-old son is missing. She can’t be more than 12 or 13.

Interesting you should bring this up.
I was talking with a guy today who is interested in doing business in China. He saw a video on China featuring one of these girls. They made a point of stating that she was twelve. The video was made in 2006.

Well, I’m in San Francisco, a city with a huge Chinese population. I see Chinese teens all the time. There’s no way that a couple of those gymnasts are 16. More like 12.

Take a look at these.

Seems like there might be evidence other than visual appearances that these athletes are underage.

Oh, please. The Americans had some injuries, and made mistakes.

However, they are very young themselves; and have been brought up in the American way...you work hard and reap the rewards.

To show up at the biggest event of their lives, to be confronted by an entire team of obvious cheaters...and to realize that NO ONE in charge is going to do anything about it, had to have been a crushing blow before they ever set foot on the competition floor.

And, spare us the "we are just not used to how young the Asians look" crap. This is elite level gymnastics; I'm sure that every other coach and team knows exactly who these children are...and exactly how old they are.

I expect you will hear more about it after our athletes have finished competition and are out of China.

There were also a bunch of articles in the Chinese media about the girls that had them at a younger age. It also must be a conicidence that two of them were born on the first of the month according to the Chinese government issued passports.

So if this is a matter within “FIG” jusisdiction, ....

Well, what’s their problem? Investigate!
China wants to be part of the real world now. Let the bastards learn what happens when you lie and cheat out here in the real world. Strip them of the medals and paint them with shame.

They were all paid off by the Chinese govt.

It’s BS, but the Chinese govt will do anything to finish #1 in golds.

The Chinese control the paper work in this case. Too bad there isn’t a blood or urine test what will revel a person’s age.

I just happened to wake up and (first thing turn on FR) and saw this thread, turned on nbc and My Goodness! They are babies(or just look like them). Announcer just said they looked vulnerable. For all the Olympic committee on their high horse this is a joke.
Yes, lets just wait til they get off chinese soil. Look at the American girls’ attitudes, they know it. 1 girl looks peeved.

Do you actually believe that the Chinese government would be part of such a fraud? What are you going to say next? That they faked the fireworks display at the opening ceremonies? Or that they used another child to lip-sync their national anthem in front of the whole world?
Stop the China bashing!

How about, “they put lead in children’s toys”. Don’t forget to add that one.

Yeah, these little gals undoubtedly have passports, birth certificates, heck, probably even driver's licenses "establishing" their ages as 16 and up. Of course, the Chinese government can print up any documents that it wants. Eventually, some sort of carbon-14 test might be developed...

Could the Chinese use hormone blocking drugs?

You bet!

Those girls if aged 16 are doctored up to keep them from maturing. No breast or hip development.
