Is it also possible that either someone asked, or he told?

The writer of this article doesn’t seem to know there aren’t any nuclear powered aircraft..... or cut the article poorly.

`Recon someone he shouldn't have been reconning perhaps.

"But a source close to the investigation told The Associated Press that Bentley's removal regarded an undisclosed personal matter and was not related to the squadron's missions or duties"

More than likely.

Most likely he was boinking someone outside of marriage. Probably somebody in the squadron. Navy takes a dim view of that.

SONOBUOY PING!

Click on pic for past Navair pings.

Post or FReepmail me if you wish to be enlisted in or discharged from the Navair Pinglist.
The only requirement for inclusion in the Navair Pinglist is an interest in Naval Aviation.
This is a medium to low volume pinglist.

Given the duty involved the president, one would think this went to the top. provides the president and the defense secretary the airborne ability to command the nation's nuclear weapons

As an 0-5, the man's rank is not one in which he'd have political enemies. I'd say he screwed something up or let his personal life become an issue.
