CNN Concerned Anti-Obama Book 'Might Catch on With Some Voters'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 08/13/2008 7:10:23 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Never Again! Not the Holocaust. We're talking about the MSM's determination not to let Barack Obama be "Swiftboated." In successive segments today, CNN provided a perfect example of the phenomenon. First, a one-sided trashing of Obama Nation, the anti-Barack book by Jerome Corsi, who co-authored Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry. In the succeeding segment, anchor Suzanne Malveaux worried out loud to Paul Begala that Barack Obama might not be responding fast enough to attacks against him, thereby "falling into the same trap as John Kerry."

Introducing the first segment, Situation Room anchor Malveaux didn't hesitate to make unequivocal claims as to the Corsi book's inaccuracy.

SUZANNE MALVEAUX: There's a new book out about Barack Obama, and it is not flattering. The facts are mixed with accusations about Obama that are misleading or just flat-out wrong. Yet despite all of this, there is concern that author's claims might catch on with some voters. Our CNN's Jessica Yellin joining me now, and Jessica, the author even admits that there is an agenda here behind this book.

It would be fun if Obama Nation drew the same explosive debates that Unfit did, IMO the most memorable of which was PMSNBC Lawrence McDonnell going in to his Lying Liar Liar Liars fit when debating John Oneill. Oneill trounced everyone who took him on, he was great, hopefully Corsi can do same.

Truth for liberals is like sunshine for vampires.....it really really hurts.

Tonight, Larry Liberal Live had Jerome Corsi on his show with some hitman from Media Matters. Its an all out effort by ABCNBCBSCNNmsnbc to assure the book is rejected as a pack of lies and Corsi himself is labeled a racist.

Corsi's book is debuting at #1 on the NYT best seller list.

Yep...it could "catch on."

Freddoso's book will be at #5, too.

I like a good pile-on.

Suzanne Malveaux shows yet again that CNN and most of the MSM are merely PR hacks for the Democrats. She did not even pretend to attempt any intelligent discussion of the substantive issues — instead she immediately turned it into a Democrat talking point discussion of “how do WE (media + Democrats) deflect or defeat critical writings about Obama?

I would say that Suzanne is just another whore for the Democrats, but in fact she is simply a true believer of the left who is promoting her own favored political agenda while imagining that she is somehow objective.

Make sure to catch Larry King's ambush "interview" of Corsi conducted tonight.

King thought it would be a good idea to have one of Media Matters' flying monkeys to counter Corsi.

It was a farce.

Anderson Cooper is about to "keep them honest" with a look at Corsi's book.

He went to a commercial break with the teaser........

is the new book about Obama just spreadin' lies?

.........before he even airs the segment, another teaser has Cooper saying that things in the book are untrue.

“anchor Suzanne Malveaux worried out loud to Paul Begala that Barack Obama might not be responding fast enough to attacks against him, thereby “falling into the same trap as John Kerry.”

A modern myth. Kerry responded fast and the best he could, putting the disabled fellow at Bush’s Crawford Ranch. Kerry successfully obscured for the pliant media left that he was not going to open up his records.

The video showed a clip of Corsi appearing on Fox News.

Within the past week, I've seen Corsi on Fox and Friends twice now and it should be noted that Bob Bechel, Democratic stategist, also appeared with Corsi both times, rebutting statements that Corsi presented in his book.

That, at least, seems a bit more "fair and balanced" than CNN's "concern."

The great danger of this year’s election is that the far left media will succeed in convincing America that Obamalangaidingdong is their salvation from the evils of democracy. If that proves to be true, and the Office of the President as well as both houses of Congress are firmly seated in the hands of these leftwing wackos, then we are truly doomed. Doomed, I say.

However, if the American public figures this out and gives them their due, despite our side fielding a much flawed candidate, then the left can be dealt a fatal blow. Odd that a man like McCain could prove to be the salvation of both the Nation and the Conservative movement, but that’s the way its shaking out. The downside of all of this is that McCain falls short. The implications are too dire to contemplate.

You’re right about that. It’s one of so many reasons his glow is fading.
People think it’s a little odd to write a book about yourself when you are young and inexperienced. Writing two books about yourself when you are still inexperienced, if not young, lights up the BS meter.
I see so many reasons Senator Obama is slipping in the polls and losing the middle. The reasons come out day after day to the point it’s becoming expected and boring. For so-called moderates and independents, one straw finally breaks Obama’s back.
People who still say they don’t know what Obama stands for are either not paying attention or they can’t handle the truth. After months of accumulating evidence that he does not embrace mainstream values much less notions of American exceptionalism, many are coming to realize what we all know:
Obama is an inexperienced autocrat who wants government to help us.
But, his biggest blunder is strategic. His move to the center has been about as clumsy an endeavor as I’ve seen. It reeks of a naivete and inexperience unbecoming of a citizen of the world.
Remember HRC’s skill in moving almost seamlessly to the center in the late primaries? Of course, her trip to the center was a lot shorter than Obama’s.

"ning me are CNN political contributor, Democratic strategist Paul Begala, and Republican strategist Kevin Madden, a former spokesman for Mitt Romney. Good to see you guys; thanks for joining us."

So what did Madden say? Would it be wrong to guess that he was smiling and dancing on a fence, all mealy-mouthed and lame, trying to "get along", and afraid to engage in smashmouth politics? Or did he actually call out Obama for being a Muslim-appeasing Marxist just like the book accurately describes?

Is that one in 3D if you look at it with the red/blue glasses?

By the way, as always, thanks for the pings. Not many people have the stomach to do what you do, monitoring channels like CNN and other Democrat channels that nobody here would ever see.

“anchor Suzanne Malveaux worried out loud to Paul Begala that Barack Obama might not be responding fast enough to attacks against him, thereby “falling into the same trap as John Kerry.”

Obama is falling into the same trap that Bill Clinton fell into when confronted with DNA evidence on a blue dress. It's the same trap that John Edwards fell into when The National Enquirer caught his late-night liasion with his mistress.

You see, Suzanne (who doesn't even know how to pronounce her own name; it comes out like "Suzon") it's very difficult for lying democrats to respond to FACTS which prove that they are lying. Bill Clinton actually did have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. And John Kerry really wasn't sent to Cambodia by Nixon (because he was never in Cambodia, and because LBJ was the president at the time) despite declaring on multiple occasions that this fact was "seared, seared" in his memory. And now, The Messiah has to explain, among other things, how he managed to listen to the racist rantings of Rev. Wright for over 20 years while he, Obama, espouses a view of the United States that is diametrically opposed to Wright's. He can't "respond fast enough" because he can't make up a lie that is good enough to make a square out of a circle.

I know it sounds crazy, but I’m 90% certain that that image was designed for 3D glasses. See how the stars rather than being a single white dot are each a pair of dots, one red and one blue? They do that to create a stereoscopic image when one eye sees red and the other blue.

Just think — you may have unknowingly made the leap into 3D .gif animation!
