Riki Ellison, President of the Missile Defense Advocacy Alliance ( www.missiledefenseadvocacy.org), issued the following statements about the situation in Europe concerning Russia, Poland and the Republic of Georgia. "Over the last few days Russia has fired over two dozen SS-21 Ballistic Short Range Missiles into the country of Georgia, integrating ballistic missile strikes with their conventional military forces. The SS-21 is a road mobile, solid fuel, single stage ballistic missile, which is maneuverable in flight and carries a high-explosive warhead weighing up to 1060lbs. with 150 meter accuracy. It has a range of 43 miles. The SS-21 is a road mobile, solid fuel, single stage ballistic missile, which is maneuverable in flight and carries a high-explosive or nuclear warhead weighing up to 1060lbs. There, fixed it.

How ironic: the original Russian motive for invading Georgia is to thwart SDI emplacements near Russia. But missile use of this variety will do more to ENCOURAGE those emplacements more than any other thing I can imagine.

I was about to ask the same question. We need confirmation on this. If it is the case, the ante has increased significantly.

This would never have happened (and neither would the Korean War and the Vietnam War) if only someone had listened to Georgie Patton.
But what can one do when our government was (and is to a large extent) controlled by leftists and plain old garden variety communists?

I saw reports on Monday that the launchers had been moved into Georgia, having come through the tunnel and being set up in the break-away province. I had not heard that they had been fired until this report.
