Actor Ed Asner, former Dallas Cowboy Mark Stepnoski, and formerly famous hip hop group Arrested Development are leading a petition drive to get a referendum on New York City’s November ballot that would establish a new 9/11 investigation. If the group, called 911 Truth, can collect 30,000 signatures before September 4th, the City Council will be required to consider the measure, which calls for an investigative panel with subpoena authority.
Former Senator Mike Gravel (who would join the panel along with former senator Lincoln Chafee, Asner and 9/11 widow Lorie Van Auken) tells NY Mag that “the original commission didn’t get to the bottom of anything. We need to investigate from scratch.” Among the “Top 40” reasons the group gives to doubt the official story of 9/11, from their website:

Did the Shanksville crash occur at 10:06 (according to a seismic report) or 10:03 (according to the 9/11 Commission)? Does the Commission wish to hide what happened in the last three minutes of the flight, and if so, why?
Pentagon Strike. How was it possible the Pentagon was hit 1 hour and 20 minutes after the attacks began? Why was there no response from Andrews Air Force Base, just 10 miles away.

These guys sure are fixated on minutes. I remember so many Dems., from Michael Moore on down, were pissed off at Bush because he stayed in that school on Sept. 11th for 7 minutes after the aide whispered in his ear about the attacks. I have never believed that we would have had any better response to Sept. 11th if only Bush had jumped out of his seat immediately and started running around barking out orders.

It is better to fight for the potentially less practical, conservative candidate every time. That national party had supported this idiot for years, too, over more conservative options.
I hate to admit it, but I'm very likely going to vote for McCain, a man only a half-degree off from Chafee, simply because we have no practical alternative.
This country is nuts. At least, with Chafee’s help, we'll know the “truth” behind Chaney's planting of the charges in the Trade Center—NOT!
And if that happened, Moore would be saying, "Look at how scared little Bushie is! It's like he prepared to act that way, like he knew this was going to happen, and wanted to use the opportunity of Americans dying to polish his 'take no prisoners' image. When asked about the contradictions in that statement, Moore would call the questioner a Nazi. And then Bill Maher's audience would laugh and applaud.

Obama should be asked about 9/11 with all due haste before the convention. Many people, even talk radio hosts don't mention that horrible day very much anymore. But the defilement of that day by liberals should be used as a weapon against liberals by derailing of their uberlord, Obama. Obama would have a hard time not appeasing his base about who is responsible for 9/11.
The doctors obviously gave Virginia Chaffee the oxytocin too soon when giving birth to lil’ Lincoln, his brain was starved for oxygen from the very beginning.
You’re just now figuring that out?! I have been around the steel mines all my life. Steel is naturally occurring and comes out of the ground in the shape of bicycle and engine parts, nuts, bolts and girders. Just whatever ya need, just look around and it is there. I couldn’t agree more, tolerating this RINO and others like Snowe from Maine always comes back to embarrass and undermine the Republicans and their legislative agenda. Party over principle always equals the diminution of the party. Unity, always a necessary component for victory, can not be built on party loyalty it must be the result of a shared set of core values and principles. The “big tent” of the Republican party will continue to shrink as long as those in leadership believe that sub dividing it is a plausible paradigm for growth.

Why is he joining Republicans for Obama? He announced that he left the Republican party after losing his election that the RNC wasted all kinds of $ on and became an IND. Why isn’t he joining INDs for Obama?
There were 8 minutes of unique ums and uhs in a 40 minute press conference from Obama this year. Rush’s staff edited them together from that single appearance with NO repeats. Someone should loop that sound from Obama over Mikey Moore’s footage with the timer running.

That may be, but for Rhode Island Chafee was almost too conservative. You will never win a senate or house seat from Rhode Island with a hard core conservative candidate. Among RI Republicans serving in Congress in the last 30 years: Claudine Schneider, John Chafee, Lincoln Chafee. Not a single conservative.
At her size shed better now something about that. ZING!
