AIDE'S MISTAKE REVEALS OBAMA'S VP PICK EARLY (PULLED FROM CNN)
It's Senator Evan Bayh of Indiana. Original link is dead. This is a screenshot courtesy of roses of sharon.
Ping
Who?!
Bill Kristol has confirmed this so we can take it to the bank. LOL!
Trial baloon: the worlds largest focus group.
yawn
Is that a hit piece?
IBTA
You beat me by ONE minute, my FRiend!
Trying to put IN into play....outside shot at it.
Now time for McCain to go unconventional......SARAH PALIN!!!!!!!
Contrast Bayh’s White male and boringness with the charm and charisma of an exciting female candidate!!!!
If it is a collective yawn, then Obama’s handlers still have time to find a higher profile VP.
they’re probably going to check for the response on FR before confirming it.
Bayh would be a funny pick. The moonbats hate him and it will further embolden Hillary at the Dems’ convention in Denver.
Why go to New Mexico tomorrow to make the announcement, though (more of Richardson’s territory)? Perhaps this is a feint instead of the real pick...
I agree!
Thanks for this thread!
I’ve started gathering things on youtube.
Bayh was an avid supporter of Hillary during the primaries.
We can put things like this to good use.

I am skeptical of that “mistake”. It is someone else.
Obama thought he was too cool and exciting to be elected, so he decided to find a boring guy to balance the ticket.
Talk about a bunch that is not ready for prime time. Who in the world would want them running the military of this country when this is the way they keep secrets in a campaign?
The Case for Evan Bayh
The Case for Dick Gephart
I think Bayh is the smartest pick Obama could make. I don’t know if he’ll flip Indiana, but he’ll definitely make it more competitive and at the very least make McCain work to keep it.
Far left liberal from Indiana (who has been a terrible Senator; and as I have heard of becuase I didn’t live there when he was Governor, a terrible guv too!).
He plays the pretty boy centrist, but he’s really a move-on liberal!
Daddy Birch Bayh was a phenom. And the math might be doable.
It's at least plausible when looking at it from Hussein's side of the chess table.
Anyone remember Kerry picking Dick Gephardt in ‘04? The NY Post ran with it on Page One.
Foxnews was reporting that McCain will make his VP announcement on his birthday in Dayton, Ohio.
Has a nice ring to it.
Bayr got some street cred by voting against Alito and Roberts I believe.
Not if Indiana voters don’t like Bayh.
Indiana is also the state that elected Mike Pence.
Nothing in politics is an accident!! Nothing! I say it’s Richardson.
Nice Choice, Evan ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Pray for W and Our Troops
Has a nice ring to it.
You're on to something! Nah, nah, nah, nah, hey, hey....
The Klintoons were well-known for using dis-information to confuse everyone; perhaps Barry learned something from them.
Bayh is a wuss - combining two wusses on one ticket isn’t a good idea. Heck, Bayh could probably beat the golden boy in one on one basketball.
That’s too funny! Not quite as great as SORE/LOSERMAN....but OBAMA/BYE
Wow. I just read Sarah Palin’s profile on wikipedia. It made my knees weak...
Are you sure this is an ACTUAL CNN screenshot? There are a lot of typos, even for CNN! :-)
Aw, he’s just picking Bayh to try and nail the White vote.
Ping
Nah, nah, nah, nah, Obama, Bayh, Bye!
Great idea!
You might be on to something there!
Maybe he wants to add some gravitas to the ticket?
Bayh..Bayh..Barack..Barack
Sounds like somebody throwing up to me.
This is the kind of thing that isnt supposed to happen - but, it appears that Obamas VP will be Ind Senator Evan Bayh. This is coming from a premature release of the email which the Obama campaign intended to send out to supporters the morning of the announcement.
CNN reported the leak at this url:
http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/08/18/bayh.vp
..but that article has since been pulled from the site. However, THIS SCREENSHOT confirms that the article did, in fact, go up a little after 8 PM.
Still waiting for this to be picked up by FOX, Ill report developments as they happen.
UPDATE: Aron Goldman from www.race42008.compointed out that the CNN article contains a couple of typos, suggesting this may be a fake. That is, of course, possible (I didnt take the screenshot myself, so I cant confirm the authenticity of it - though I dont see Bayh as being the person to inspire a rumor mill - but mistakes arent uncommon online, Fox continues to report Obamas speech at the 1904DNC convention.
UPDATE 2: This is via the same source from the original image - but some clippings from the second e-mail:
a technical glitch occurred while updating the e-mail that will be sent to supporters upon the announcement of Sen. Obamas VP
.releasing the name of Indiana Senator Evan Bayh as his Running mate
at this point, the campaign is unwilling to confirm or deny this selection
.asks that all supporters disregard the orginial email as a mistake until any official confirmation is made
I said before that I don’t know if Bayh can flip Indiana. I do know that his family has a long history in the state’s politics and that he’s been elected governor and senator twice. Bayh is hands down the most popular Democrat in the state.
He makes Indiana close, but I still think McCain takes it.
Ditto.
Obama might be letting it out early so FreeRepublic can do the job of vetting him.
