FLATWOODS, Ky. (WSAZ) -- With the Democratic National Convention just a week away, there are some local delegates who say a Barack Obama nomination is far from official, including Tyler Murphy.
Murphy -- in a bedroom that looks like a squared oval office, at the ripe old age of 20, a die-hard Democrat and a staunch Bill and Hillary Clinton supporter since he was 8 -- has hit a thin patch.
In a formal rules challenge, Murphy and two dozen fellow Kentucky delegates complain that with too many Kentucky men picked under required gender equity, the state Democratic Party replaced pledged Hillary Clinton supporter Todd Hollenbach -- not with a required female Clinton supporter -- but with state representative and Obama activist Ruth Ann Palumbo.
The rule challenge also charges the state party asked Delegate Jeff Harney to resign due to his sexual preference.
"He's a good man (who has) worked for the party, but he is an openly gay male," Murphy said.
The Kentucky Democratic Party response is that each replacement delegate is pledged to Clinton. Murphy said he's one of many national Clinton supporting delegates not conceding anything yet.
"I feel the Democratic Party leadership has failed the rank and file," he said. "As a delegate, I'll be voting for Hillary Clinton."
Murphy said he has nothing but respect for Kentucky Democratic Party Chair Jennifer Moore. But he also feels the early Democratic state caucuses were skewed to Obama, and the Florida and Michigan primary outcomes were unfair to Clinton. Murphy also said there are many Democratic delegates like him across the U.S. who may not be standing hand-in-hand supporting Obama after the last ballot.
heh.. those Clintons are setting up a Kansas city shuffle on the annointed one..rofl
I think the Dems are starting to realize they’ve made a huge error with Obambi.
Buyer’s remorse is setting in...
“Murphy — in a bedroom that looks like a squared oval office, at the ripe old age of 20, a die-hard Democrat and a staunch Bill and Hillary Clinton supporter since he was 8”
Wow, he is 20. That seals the deal for me. I amm going with Hillary!
Hmm... I wonder if Kentucky has an Asian American gay transgendered midget who plays the harp as a delegate? :-)
She might just be playing this to stir up her base this year to turn them against Obama.
It’ll never happen. Never. H is the nominee, for better or (hopefully) worse
Yep, I am with you on this. The Clintons at some point figured this all out and stayed in the primaries to damage Obama. And it will continue at the convention.
Oops!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.....................
If Barack is denied then will it still be Bush’s fault when billions of dollars of damage will happen in all the major cities when the riots break out?
Just curious how they will spin it to be our fault. Again.
Was the H meant to be He, or H for Hillary?
If Hillary is nominated then blacks, extreme moonbats and the "newly enlightened" college students will either not vote or run off to Nader. She might even lead the Democrats to a third place finish. EV 535-3.
Nope, 2012 is Hillary's best shot.
(unless you meant H for Hussein, in which case ignore my prediction).
Affectionately known as Talking Points Tyler locally. The kid cuts & pastes DNC articles in his letters to the editor in our paper.
Complete mind-numbed robot.
The knife will be out so fast Obama won’t even feel it go in.
You think Obama's going to feel bamboozled or hoodwinked after the convention?
Hey Dummycrats, tuff shitzky!!!! ROFLMAO,lolololol!!!!
Twenty people (delegates) have filed a complaint or challenge against Ruth Ann Palumbo and the Kentucky Democratic Party for failure to implement a plan approved by the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee. Both Chairwoman Jennifer Moore and Executive Director Jeremy Horton are named in the challenge.Summery of the legal challenge and link to the PDF file of the entire document at the blog.
Long story short, Jennifer Moore replaced three pledged male Clinton delegates with three females after being notified by the DNC that the gender balance of Kentuckys delegation was imbalanced. Jennifer replaced one of the Clinton delegates (Todd Hollenbach) with a female Obama delegate, which doesnt quite fly by the rules, as you might imagine. Jennifers own family is involved and named in the challenge.
It is time for Jennifer Moore to resign. The Kentucky Democratic Party is now the laughing stock of the nation. Our sources at the DNC reveal to us that the national party is more than pissed at Kentucky and sees this as a legitimate complaint. Way to go, KDP!

Is this Hillary Singing Unelectable ;-)

I think this has been the plan for some time. When Bill Clinton said that anyone who is qualified under the constitution should be able to run for president I think he was giving away his hand. There will be a lot of crap to hit the fan yet. The Clintons are great at timing. They will dump on him at a time when he will not have a chance to refute the claims that surface, they will pull a Dan Rather drunk driving ticket out of their sleeve only it will be much worse. I don't feel sorry for the commie Obama but don't look forward to the commie Hillary either.
On the good side, once the party dumps Obama the black vote will be small this year and it may never quite go back to 90% again for Dems. The young people who follow Obama like a rock star will simply abandon the election and go about their having fun and forget about politics. If O does not get the nomination McLame will win in a landside.

This upcoming convention could “recreate ‘68”. I live near Denver and I’m staying way.
Sorry... He whose middle name shall not be spoken
Here’s a plausible scenario..Bubba is speaking Wednesday evening, before the VP choice does, so imagine if he decides to go ALL IN, and gets up there and says something like, “Look, I’m the only guy in the party who can dare say this, and not just because she’s my wife, but she’s far and away the best candidate we have, and I’m calling on all the superdelegates to vote for her tomorrow, and give her the nomination..”
If Clinton gets to be the nominee we had better load up on ammo and supplies. Things will get pretty nasty out there.
If Clinton gets the nomination Denver will explode and that will leave Freepers with an agonizing choice. Which side do we send arms to.
Obama and his people are trying to steal as many delegates as they can from Kentucky.
I think there should be no rick rolling allowed on FR.
Bill Clinton would do it!
