I ran into a person on this site who has posted that women shouldn’t have the right to vote. I dared him to post to me (someone having voted for Ronald Reagan twice and a landowner) that I shouldn’t have the right to vote. LOL. I don’t support Mitt Romney because of his looks; I support him for his experience and leadership.

Do we know she is pro-choice? I have been searching for the answer and cannot find anything definitive.

Also, given ebay is in the SF area, I would not view eBay’s personnel policies as her own.

Ms. Palin is young. I think she has the most potential than any other GOP Lady (pun intended) that I've seen. It's just not her time yet.

"Walter Williams is also too old, and having “two old guys” would truly hurt McCain’s chances, IMHO. Like it or not, McCain truly needs to pick somebody younger than him to be his VP, and the majority of people would agree with this."

Larry Elder. In a debate with Biden it would be like sandblasting a poptart.

"Seems like the guys are more thrilled about Palin than the gals. ;)"

It's hard to get "excited" when you don't know much about the candidate. We know well that she is Governor of Alaska and that she has conservative approval ratings in the 90's. That's about it.

No. She is not.

Gotta go — will post a thread about it later.

Please ping me when you do. This is heating up and a lot of questions are being raised without anyone having answers. I'd like to let others know where they can get the facts...

In this day and age, why is abortion the number one concern for so many Republicans?

Don’t we have bigger fish to fry at this point in our lives?

Russia is looking at re-creating their union.
Muslims are trying to kill us.
We are being attacked by Global Warming Enthusiasts.
Gas prices are through the roof.
Taxes are choking us.
We have a horrendous deficit.
Illegal aliens are invading our country and destroying our social services.
Yet, we are all worked up about abortion?

How old was he, 150?

Probably not...but it probably narrows down the likely possibilities of his religious denomination.

I've heard the theory; giving women the vote enabled the 'politics of emotion vs. reason', leading to today's liberal society. There may be something to that argument, but to argue the result to be a net loss pre-supposes that there are no offsetting gains in giving women the vote. I think most people would ultimately conclude that it helps more than it hurts.

If John McCain believes, as he stated he did on Saturday night, that a human being's rights begin at the moment of conception, then he would either be a hypocrite or a fool to put that human being's rights at risk by choosing a man who strongly believes that another human being (a woman) has some inherent right to destroy that conceived being's rights.

Thomas Jefferson capsulized the principle underlying our liberty:

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."

The abortion argument is won by changing people’s hearts — one by one — and people’s hearts are changing, thank God.

"McCain “got the message” last week that choosing a running mate who supports abortion rights would not be helpful."

So conservatives badmouthing McCain's ideas is a good thing, it can push him in the "right" direction. Some on FR need to keep that in mind.

What has McCain really said about choosing a pro-abortion (isn’t that what choice means?) VP?

I think we’re all just a little too ready to let the MSM mess with our minds.

No worries, Whitman is just as comfortable with conducting search and destroy operations inside a pregnant woman's womb as George 'The Killer' Tiller, she just knows how to smile about it.

Do some of you always believe what the media is saying? Putting names out there for VP has been going on for years to throw people off on who is the real pick. Media loves it while knowing full well their ruffling conservative feathers which is what they want.

“In this day and age, why is abortion the number one concern for so many Republicans?”

Ethics and values are timeless. Where you stand on the fundamental issues of life, liberty, religious expression, etc. determines what perspective you would use to determine all the present day problems like Russia-Georgia.

Discard ethics and values and you’ll be wandering around aimlessly (like Obama this past weekend).
