“A pacifist... a rapist and a communist”
and both are Cowards.
ditto here. I'm sure many Freeper faithful have a hard time believing it, but the Dems used to be considered the hawks on foreign policy. Much of JFK's campaign was railing against Republican's "weakness" on the Soviets. There always was that far-left fringe in the party, and after '68 they took over completely.
Nice comment. Civil rights was the main reason (parents had a strong influence too) why I was a Dem when I was young. The leftists perverted those ideals and shoved a lot of other bad stuff on the Dem Party and the country as a whole.
“...I specifically rmember was the deliberate and well funded Communist infiltration...”
yes,....and people like Hoover, Reagan, McCarthy ect. who warned against Communist infiltration are now savagely attacked by the Academy/Hollywood/the Media.

Actually, the left were against the war during the period of time when Hitler & Stalin were making nice nice with each other. Once Hitler invaded the Soviet Union, they “flipped” their opinion.
....Im old enough to remember when the Dems were pro-American, pro-capitalism and pro-military....hell, I used to be a Dem...
Though never a Democrat myself (my dad was one,) I remember when many Democrats were honorable men, with whom you could disagree on policy, but still view with respect. During most of his career, Sen. Moynihan was one of these. He warned of the destructive effects welfare would have on the family. Sadly, I cannot think of a current Democrat (since Zell Miller retired) that I can respect. This is very sad,
Good observation. The left adamantly defended the hideous Nazi/Soviet pact and thus fought the possibility of entry into World War Two. When their precious, murderous, Soviet Union was invaded, they turned on a dime and screamed and screeched for the US and Britain to assist Communist Russia.
So, our Democrats “progressed” from national socialism to international socialism.

They popularized drug usage too. Now even elementary school kids use drugs. When I was in high school in the fifties, no one had ever heard of marijauna.
