Chinese may have killed 140 Tibetans this week: Dalai Lama
2 hours, 14 minutes ago
Chinese security forces opened fire on a crowd this week in eastern Tibet and may have killed 140 people, the Dalai Lama told a French daily on Thursday.
"The Chinese army again fired on a crowd on Monday August 18, in the Kham region in eastern Tibet," he told Le Monde. "One hundred and forty Tibetans are reported to have been killed, but the figure needs to be confirmed."

Thanks for reminding the world of what the regime is all about. This will snuff out whatever warm-and-fuzzy feeling some naive and gullible people may have had about Chinese regime after watching Olympic propaganda show.
Ping!
So then, did they win the Gold Medal for “Human Rights Abuses”?
No wonder that communist flags are red.
“...snuff out whatever warm-and-fuzzy feeling some naive and gullible people may have had about Chinese regime...”
You’re talking about Democrats and neocons, right?
Yeah, it keeps the dry cleaning expenses down...
The workers flag that shrouds our dead,
in all its folds is colored red.
Sends a heck of a message to those who may oppose chinese oppression. The world isn’t going to say a word if the Chinese kill you.
They got gold in Human Rights Protection just after Edwards got his Father of the Year award.
no more photos please.
a couple of years ago there was a pic of a cute tibetan girl.
the photo showed a chicom rifle next to her head.
the next photo showed the back of head gone.
ick.
the chicoms are such nice folks.
It is just beyond belief that the world allows the Chinese government to get away with things like this. What they have done/are doing in Tibet is beyond a human rights violation; it’s genocide!
That’s O.K.
The Olympics were great and everybody did well and had a good time (sarcasm).
Ping!
Bump
A most unexpected turn of events. /s
Good verse. Sums the issue up. The absolute hypocrisy of tyranny.

Re: Chinese security forces opened fire on a crowd this week in eastern Tibet and may have killed 140 people
This doesn’t even make the news with thousands of so-called reporters over there!
Disgusting.
That’s from The Workers Flag. It was the anthem of the British Labour Party many years ago, and the tune is that better known as “O Christmas Tree.”
The worker’s flag is deepest red
It shrouded oft our martyred dead;
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold
Their life-blood dyed its every fold.
Chorus:
Then raise the scarlet standard high!
Beneath its folds we’ll live and die.
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer
We’ll keep the red flag flying here.
2. Look ‘round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow’s vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.
Chorus:
3. It waved above our infant might
When all ahead seemed dark as night.
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We will not change its color now.
Chorus:
4. It suits today the meek and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place,
To cringe beneath the rich man’s frown,
And haul that sacred emblem down.
Chorus:
5. With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.
Chorus:
Thank you! I had never knew about this piece before. The irony now is priceless.
“So then, did they win the Gold Medal for Human Rights Abuses?”
The Chinese claim the machine guns they used were under the age of 16 so they cannot collect their Gold Medal.
I must correct myself, it is called The Red Flag, written by an Irishman in 1899, so it actually predates humanity’s knowledge of the true depths of depravity its tenets would unleash on mankind. I think before the Lenin purges there might have been a little bit of room for idealism, though the French revolution should have been a loud, clear signal of what was coming.
the Chinese must have found a lot of buyers for kidneys, corneas and spleens over at the olympics and were running short of dissidents.
Russia still wins the genocide gold medal during this Olympics.
Thanks for the added info. May we never see socialism’s ‘possibilities’ here.
