The Fox News Channel has refused a request by a group called America Issues Project to buy time on the network to run an ad criticizing presumptive Democratic party presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama over his friendship with unrepentent Weathermen terrorist Bill Ayers.
The Associated Press reports a spokesman for Fox News would not give an explanation as to why Fox refused the ad buy.
Fox has had a rocky relationship with the Obama campaign. Obama refused to participate in any presidential debates on Fox and has singled out the network for criticism in speeches on the campaign trail.
Bill O'Reilly, host of the O'Reilly Factor, the most popular show on the Fox News Channel, has been begging Obama for months to appear on his show. Recently, O'Reilly has admitted to withholding damaging information about prominent Democrats Jesse Jackson and John Edwards after others reported on the news he chose not to report.
Fox has given a platform to author Jerome Corsi to speak about his new book, The Obama Nation, drawing Obama's wrath on the campaign trail this week.
The Obama-Weathermen ad is scheduled to run in Michigana and Ohio this week.
Talking Points Memo speculates the reason Fox declined "may be because the ad accused Ayers of participating in a bombing of the U.S. Capitol, despite there being no evidence he ever did such a thing. So if Fox were to run it, they'd be open to a potential lawsuit for slander."
if the democrats had their way,
our news media would be like russia’s pravda.
I thought Ayers was proud of his “work”.
More likely carrying McCain’s water than Obama’s. McCain is ahead now. He doesn’t need to take that kind of risk.
Typical, in this campaign we have more problems amongst our friends then our ersatz opponents....
Conservatism is a ruin at the moment folks, we have little to Rally around, and Fox is not stepping up either.
What is the world? They banking on Obambi to win?
Here’s the video if I’m thinking of the right one

Now you know where FauX NEWS stands! They used to be watched here in my household all the time, now it’s limted. Ever since the own of FauxNEWS held a fund raiser for the BEAST the honeymoon was over!
I think Fox News refused it so that it would get LOTS more airplay and discussion.
I find it simply unbelievable.
The whole concept of Obama’s association with Ayers should be front and center, as should his association with Rezko (Syrian) who has ties to some extremely shady people according to Corsi’s book “Obama Nation”.
I just cannot believe we have a man like Obama running for President. I am completely flummoxed by this. I know the Democrat party lost their last real American when Zell Miller left office, but...to descend in my lifetime to THIS?
Didn’t they just play it on Hannity and Colmes?
Maybe he will play it again since “the story” is now the add is banned. ;)
Maybe, but a better strategy would have been to go to MSNBC first, and if they refused to play it Fox would then almost certainly play it. This gives all the other netweorks cover ... “see, even FoxNews refused it!”
Affirmative Action Candidate.
BO would probably appoint Ayers head of homeland security.
“The Fox News Channel has refused a request by a group called America Issues Project to buy time on the network to run an ad criticizing presumptive Democratic party presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama...”
I heard that Fox is partly owned by the Saudis? If that is true, you have the reason for Fox’s refusal to run the ad.
They finally got to fauxnews. Let them have ‘em.
I quit going there a long time ago.
Fox News is why McCain cant get ahead of Obama in the polls.
Unleashing their left-wing attack dog Alan Colmes on McCain with criticisms nightly eats into his poll #’s. ;-)
I’d like to hear what the presumptuous Dim candidate, oops, presumptive.....well, what the heck, the presumptuous, presumptive Dim candidate has to say. Perhaps we could just refer to him as the PPD candy-ass!
Didn’t Ayers admit bombing the Capitol in his auto-biography?
I hope that ad makes it on TV.
The more people that see it, the better--as the MSM has done its absolute best to 'spike' the story of Hussein and his unrepentant terrorist buddy.
Why would Ayers sue for slander when he is so very proud of blowing up US government buildings?
I’m getting a little concerned. The anti-Obama wave is getting a little too strong, and right before the Convention.
I’m just afraid we’re brewing the perfect storm for Hillary’s triumpant return.
I guess this pathetic move removes all doubt.
our news media would be like russias pravda.
Our news media is not like pravda????
Yea.. Why run it when it’s going to get free play anyway?
Most of Fox News viewers are anti-Obama anyway so it doesn’t even matter.
The ad needs to be played for the geezers still watching network news (Williams, Couric, etc.)
Fox won’t play for pay, but I bet they’ll play it in coverage about why they refused to air it.
our news media would be like Russias Pravda.
And Fox News is just taking out a little insurance against the unexpected and unwanted. IMHO.
.
The Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, hardly a conservative outfit, has found that “Fox News Channel’s evening news show provided more balanced coverage than its counterparts on the broadcast networks.”
Fox News Channel’s coverage was more balanced toward both parties than the broadcast networks were. On FOX, evaluations of all Democratic candidates combined were split almost evenly 51% positive vs. 49% negative, as were all evaluations of GOP candidates 49% positive vs. 51% negative, producing a perfectly balanced 50-50 split for all candidates of both parties.
On the three broadcast networks, opinion on Democratic candidates split 47% positive vs. 53% negative, while evaluations of Republicans were more negative 40% positive vs. 60% negative.

FOX NEWS IS THE ONLY ONE WHO EVEN ATTEMPTS TO EXPOSE THIS FRAUD OBAMA.
SEAN HANNITY HITS OBAMA HARD EVERY NIGHT.
.
That's it. It should be seen early and often by everyone!!!
Yes, I thought I saw the ad on H&C tonight. Maybe it was just part of it and didn't have that part of the audio. I saw the entire ad at the website.
Fox played an ad promoting a anthropomorphic global-warming institute (sounds like govt-related?) end of ad: "sponsored by FOX News."
WTVN-am 610 Columbus, OH, between end of Rush-3pm and start of Hannity-7pm.
If it wasn't for Hannity--the Obama-Rev.Wright relationship would have been spiked. We can thank Hannity for that one.
Also, Hannity is the only one holding Hussein's feet to the fire on his friendship with a proud, unrepentant terrorist!! We all owe Hannity on this one too.
“Hard to believe you can slander a terrorist for highlighting his organization’s deeds.”
No good deed goes unpunished today in this country, particularly that of speaking the truth publicly. Those who wish the US harm (of whom there are many) use its own freedoms, laws and tolerance against it. You’d be shocked at ALL the (daily) court-clogging, hugely expensive lawsuits initiated by radical Islamists (with terrorist ties) against our institutions and governments at all levels, assisted most of the time (if not all) by the America-hating, communist ACLU.
Just another effective form of terrorism, instilling fear against free speech.
HE is Bill Ayers. The quotes are from his book. The passage is fron a 9/11/2001 article by the New York Times.
Fox is jumping the shark on this one.
IBTRYMB!Post!
Especially when he has stated that he's so proud of his terrorist activities,,,
that he wished he HAD DONE MORE!!!
How pathetic can you get?
If they won’t run it on broadcast, put the rest of the meat in (another 60 minutes worth) and push it all over the internet.
Our media *is* like Pravda, just more slick & polished.
“Hannity just played it during his show.
Was thinking of this also, when I read the above article - loved it!! Don’t think he didn’t know what he was doing (no doubt with the secret blessing of FNC, who you know really wanted to sell ad time for it in the first place) - a very smooth way to get the word out anyway - good move, Sean! :-))))))
It’s good that FNC declined to show it today... Ayers, Rezko, George Obama... Wait a bit, until late September or Mid October... Why do they seem to use all weapons this early? Unless, I hope it’s right, they have more in their arsenal...
The facts are that in today’s highly litigious, bizarro world of political correctness, no company wants to be tied up with mega-million dollar lawsuits (and it doesn’t matter who’s right, it would still involve unbelievable time, attorneys and press coverage), so they always end up settling anyway, usually in large amounts - right or wrong -just to get it over with. Companies always have shareholders to answer to as well. It’s just an unfair, raw deal that’s been going on for years in this country.
See, I think FNC in this case did it brilliantly - by Hannity running the ad anyway (and maybe Bill O will as well), they STILL gave it exposure to as many millions of people who would’ve seen it if it were a commercial - in fact, maybe MORE (so many people tivo or forward through commercials, or just plain zone out. This way, it was an integral part of a VERY popular show.
“I think Fox News refused it so that it would get LOTS more airplay and discussion.”
you know, excellent observation!!! media strategy can sometimes be a beautiful thing :-)))
“Maybe he will play it again since the story is now the add is banned. ;)”
oh, trust me, he will (and maybe others on FNC as well). A brilliant move to get the word out to the public in a better way than the obvious (more expensive, less effective, one:-))
that’s funny!
you know, in the early 1990’s i met a russian immigrant.
one day he came up to me and burst out:
“your news media is controlled!”
thanks for noticing, i said.
it takes a russian to notice what most americans can’t see!
“I heard that Fox is partly owned by the Saudis? If that is true, you have the reason for Foxs refusal to run the ad.”
If you don’t think Arabs own varying percentages of most businesses (and real estate) in this country, you’re sadly naive. But last I heard, I think Saudi owns either 3 or 5%. That’s FAR, FAR from having voting clout in shareholders’ meetings.
I would like to see an ad similiar to the one Hillary did which eg.,..lights come on late at night...etc This was a hatchet job on ability to lead, inexperience etc.
“Unleashing their left-wing attack dog Alan Colmes on McCain with criticisms nightly eats into his poll #s. ;-)”
c’mon now - I can’t stand Alan Colmes either, but the show IS Hannity & Colmes - the point/counterpoint is its main premise. That’s how they roll. Hannity really does get the main spot and say-so, though (hence the billing and salary differences:-))))))))))
How about his own admission? I'd think that's evidence.
From Fugitive Days, by Bill Ayers, Page 246:
"In part our rhetoric was still way out in front of our capacity. But three of us were dead, and soon we would organize a prison break and a series of high-profile bombings using dynamite -- that most romantic of nineteenth-century radical tools -- in government buildings, most dramatically the Capitol in Washington, in response to the widening war, an action code-named the Big Top."
Right and maybe we will get lucky and the democrats will complain about the add and make it more of “a story” like they did with McCain’s celebrity adds that were only on the internet and not many people were seeing.
