if he goes for Bayh or Chet, he’s skeered.
Obama wants to win, and even though he mouthed the words at the Saddleback debate, he doesn't really believe in evil.
Socialists never do.
A congressman that no one outside of Texas has ever heard of? As a Texan, I know Edwards only as a supposedly moderate Dem who represents a conservative area (Waco etc.) and who always seems to hang on every two years, but even I couldn’t have picked him out of a lineup before today. I don’t see what this does for O. Obama “balanced” the ticket by picking someone to his right? There are only about 75 Dem Senators and Governors who fit that bill, each of whom has won at least one statewide election, and some of whom might actually help him win a state. Hard to believe he goes this route.
Never heard of him. Could be a great choice.
Rearranging the letters C-H-E-T, we get T-H-E-C. This can only mean “The Clinton”. We need someone to confirm this via numerological analysis.
Did Obama just strip the paint off an old Kerry campaign plane?
Does this mean they will have to recount the hanging Chets?
Rush just read off a list of Chet Edwards’ votes.
If he is Obama’s pick, Obama’s VP nominee could be more conservative than McCain’s.
That would be a kicker.
"Edwards...isn't he the one that was caught with that woman in a hotel? I'm not voting for them!"
He’ll be disappointed when he finds out the name is CHET! I’m sure he misread it as CHEAT and said, “That’s my guy!”
I think he will pick the former Iowa governor, who dropped out very early in the primaries.
Or Jack Reed.
I’ve never heard of him. I’m sure he’s a Marxist like Obama.
When my brother was sent to Iraq a few years ago, Chet Edwards spoke at both the deployment of his unit (in Waco) and when the unit returned a year later or so. I remember being impressed with him, then being disappointed to learn he had a “D” after his name.
Don’t think an unknown VP is going to help Obama’s downhill slide though—2 unknowns in the White House, in this day and age of global tension? Nope. Not gonna happen.
Chet Edward, John Edwards, it’s all the same. How many Dems are not going to know the difference and just decide to stay home rather than vote for that guy they read about in the National Enquirer? The good news just keeps rolling in.
My Grandmother is in Edwards’ district. She hates him and will be glad to see him go.
Interestingly, he seems to out shine Repubs in strong GOP districts.

Chet who?
The empty suit needs to pick a no-namer to keep himself the headliner.
Well. He doesn’t actually sound that awful. As Democrats go, I mean. I wouldn’t LIKE any Democrat he picked, but this guy sounds less objectionable than most.
Maybe it’ll prompt McCain to choose a conservative running mate for himself. That would be good.
