I stumbled out of bed about 7:15 a.m. and there, on the cell phone I'd turned to "silent" for the night, was a note on the screen telling me I had 1 message from 62262. I knew his number by now: Barack.
Frankly, I'd signed up out of curiosity, not really as a fan, but I still felt a small letdown, knowing that the news was already several hours stale. At the same time, I was relieved that the phone hadn't woken me up in the middle of the night. Joe Biden is not worth waking up for at 3 a.m. I can think of only one vp pick that might have been worth a wrecked night's sleep, but I won't mention her name.
SNIP
Obama's text gimmick was amusing, but I think the campaign folks missed the chance to make it fully work. If they had genuinely wanted to give something special to the people who signed up for the text announcement, they would have done it at 3 p.m., not 3 a.m. That would have been fun - the ripple of news through offices and coffeehouses and grocery stores, a real reward to Obama supporters. By doing it in the middle of the night, they confirmed that the campaign, no surprise, mostly wanted the p.r. surrounding the gimmick and the cell phone numbers it harvested. All those cells will be hearing more from 62262.

I took a stroll into DU earlier this morning and many are upset they never got their text. Heck, some of them didn’t even get the email!
My guess is this that other choices had a case of cold feet and Obama had to scrape at the bottom of the barrel at the last minute..
The “Plagiarist Twins” now running as a team after the Clinton and Edwards liars—It was a hard decision with that Dem gene pool of yuck!
It hits the MSM at 12:15 eastern and the DUmmies are still waiting for their text messages, wondering if it's true why The Messiah hasn't contacted them.
3:00 am. Yup, that's when the campaign wanted to make the announcement. On a Saturday morning. Y’know, so you get a full news cycle.
Typical dem incompetence.
The author has not realized yet that the 3:00 a.m. announcement of Biden's selection was a direct slap at Hillary's 3:00 a.m. phone call ad. Obama's snide message is that Hillary did NOT get the 3:00 a.m. call after all.
There's going to be some serious blood on the floor in Denver once Obama's pettiness sinks in among her supporters.
Joe Biden is REAL popular with democrats, I think he may have polled 1% in his presidential run if I remember correctly... (the 1% may be overly optimistic)
Ping to #7...now that’s funny!! Dimmiecrats will rag on that graphic.
Interesting observation and one I missed. Biden is a good choice for the dems. Pretty much seals their fate IMO.
Some of the Hillary people are saying this was released at 3am to mock her “It’s 3am” commercial.
If that’s true, I gotta say: LOLOLOLROFLMAO Good one, Obomination.
Getting closer.
Rev 13:18 (18) Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
I didn't think many people would catch that, but the folks I've talked with this morning had! :-)
If I were in the PUMA crowd, I'd be hoppin' mad right now! The whole red-herring fiasco of head fakes for Bayh, Kaine, Edwards, etc....it was an insult to his own supporters. No class.
I did too. Did you notice how few people they have posting over there? The thread had been up almost 12 hours and I don't think they'd hit 300 posts, and most of the posts seemed to be from the same six people.
Lotta profanity too.
I might get up at 3am for this potential VP pick...

Heck...I might even stay up until 3am for that...
3:00 a.m. was chosen for the very specific purpose of rubbing Hillary's nose in it.
“62262”
Should I put on my tinfoil hat? Two 6’s and the number of 2’s that add up to another 6 making the number 666
Obama was just trying to make a point about the 3AM call ad. “I might not know what to do, but you just sleep through the call.”
If people have to be asked to register to vote they may not show up on election day due to lack of motivation. This could be a big help in Getting out the vote.
Wow! That’s pretty chilling! I hadn’t put that piece together yet.
“...I took a stroll into DU earlier this morning...”
Did you shower and delouse afterwards? That place makes me feel dirty.
If you put such a bumper sticker on your car, you might cause traffic accidents with Republican women driving behind you doubled over at the wheel.
You strolled? I have to wade in there with my hip boots pulled tightly up to my pectoral muscles!
DUmmie FUnnies 06-23-08 (DUmmies Angry With Biden Announcement)
OBNOXIOUS
....When I went to bed at 2:45 a.m. this morning, after packing for two weeks on the road to the Democratic and Republican conventions -- and enduring a close call where I thought I'd lost my wallet -- I was exhausted. I had also already learned, and blogged about, Barack Obama's pick of Joe Biden as his running mate.
So I was none too pleased when, at 3:30 a.m., just as I was drifting into a deep sleep, I received a text message. From the Obama campaign. Telling me something I already knew, and that even if I hadn't, I wouldn't have needed to know until the next morning.
Maybe I should make a coffee cup with that logo.
This is the ONLY safe way to take a stroll into DU:
LOL. Yes, I had a long, hot shower.
ROTFL!
OH MY GOODNESS!! Bwahahahahahahahahahaha!
I agree.... on both counts.
So, you noticed that too.
I think if I cared about Obama I would be far more miffed about the VP selection in this case than in the botched announcement. I’d be saying something like, “Biden...BIDEN...wow...”
There is a lot of speculation out there that the 3 am text message about Obama's VP choice was a big 'Up yours' to Hillary for that 3 a.m. ad she did.
The moonbats are upset that they didn’t get their promised text message? Hahahahahahahahaha!
Just wait ‘til they start getting the bill for all the text spam they’re gonna receive when the Obama campaign sells their numbers to the telemarketers.
This is great!
They couldn't do it when the stock market was still open.
Jamie Dupree (Neal Bortz’s Washington guy) said he had gotten an e-mail...I thought he said it was from the Obama campaign...the subject line indicated a VP choice but then when he opened the message it was just a tease.
It sounded like a rather puerile message — I wasn’t clear on whether it was sent to media only or to anyone.
I am thinking that Biden was his choice. I didn’t see Tim Kaine or Evan Bayh having all that much to lose by running with Obama. I don’t see Biden adding anything to the ticket though.
Typical dem incompetence.

The sender’s phone was set for Beijing time! 3am EDT is 3pm China time.
Attractive lady, but she needs an updated hairstyle.
I think the first one stands by itself. For women anyway. That o.b. is very stark against the white background. Nothing more needs to be added.
That is just my two pennies.
It’s definitely a keeper! Good job!
1. They have cutting edge technology, but they are mis-using it. The text message idea was cute, but HIGHLY ineffective. An effective use of technology is how McCain is responding on YouTube on an almost DAILY basis. High quality ads that take about 2 hours to produce and post.
2. They are revealing themselves as attention whores to an excessive degree. Every campaign wants attention, but to keep people on 'pins and needles' for 4 days borders on psychosis.
3. Finally, if Obama keeps trying to build excitement with each announcement and then falls flat, what does that say about his entire campaign message? What they are demonstrating is false hope.

lol I thought the same thing when I saw his zip code was 60606
.... I’m thinking Heavy Duty Reynolds Wrap is the best choice it is really thick.
Quix, possible eschatology ping to #19.
