How Many Houses Does Joe Biden (including those hidden in Trusts)

Posted on 08/23/2008 5:26:40 PM PDT by Texas Songwriter

In another thread today a Google Earth photograph reveals the Joe Biden Compound has at least 4 houses, swimming pool, tennis courts, and other amenities. A review of his 2005, 2006, and 2007 Income Tax Returns indicate he reports a net worth of about $470,000. It was reported he has no home note, suggesting his home/homes are paid for. So, how does a person who has never made much more than $150,000 per year amass proterty of magnitudes 10 times or more what he reports to the sentate?

So, Mr. Biden, how many homes do you have. You did not include the value of the four homes on your compound in the report to the senate and the IRS. How many homes beyond the four at your compound do you have? It is legitimate to ask of McCain, it is legitimate to ask you.

Any politico knows the Congress is the most corruptable body of individuals in America. Long established FACT. So now, where do they get thier income? Certainly not the paycheck. IMHO, lobbyists and special interet groups provide much of their income...in varying forms.

I don’t know, but he says he and his wife put the children to bed every night, then sit at the kitchen table worrying about how to pay the bills.

According to Neil Cavuto this morning on Fox News, the house he lives in is worth $1.3 million. His mother also has a house in the ‘compound’. I bet the others belong to his children.

That place isn’t just a house, its a mansion. If he bought it 30 years ago, he still had to have some money then to buy it.

Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, is a lobbyist.

******

“....Delaware senator Joe Biden’s son, R. Hunter Biden, provides another example: In 2003, The New York Times reported, he joined MBNA America Bank, the huge credit card empire, as a management trainee after graduating from Yale Law School. He moved up the ladder, becoming executive vice president, and now is a partner of Oldaker, Biden & Belair, a D.C. lawyer-lobbyist shop. In that capacity during 2003, he got a $100,000 annual retainer from MBNA to advise the company on ‘the Internet and privacy law.’

“As it turns out, MBNA is Senator Biden’s biggest contributor. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Biden raised $147,700 from MBNA employees from 1999 to 2004. MBNA’s ties to the Bidens might seem ironic since the firm is usually viewed as a big Republican campaign fundraiser and was George W. Bush’s sixth-largest contributor during last year’s presidential campaign, with a total of $356,350....”

The younger Biden has since left MBNA to establish his own lawyer-and-lobbying firm, but still receives a $100,000 per year consulting fee from the bank, which has since been swallowed by Bank of America. In 2006, Hunter Biden was appointed by President Bush to a five-year term on the Amtrak Reform Board.

Lobbyist Hunter Biden Is Sued on Paradigm Purchase

R. Hunter Biden, a Washington lobbyist, fraudulently excluded a partner from the purchase of a hedge-fund investment firm, the partner claims in a lawsuit.

Biden and his uncle James Biden squeezed investment consultant Anthony Lotito Jr. out of the 2006 acquisition of New York-based Paradigm Cos., Lotito says in a complaint filed Jan. 5 in New York state court. The Bidens lied to Lotito about their joint offer while negotiating a better deal alone, Lotito’s complaint says. The Bidens deny the claims.

Sure! Of course, I can’t ignore my house when reporting assets, either... Apparently good ol’ Joe can!

May 14, 2003 Robert Hunter Biden, who is a year younger (than his brother, Beau Biden) at 33, is a lawyer with the firm of Oldaker Biden & Belair in Washington. He previously worked in the U.S. Commerce Department during the Clinton administration.

Biden has less houses than John Kerry. (Remember when the MSM was all over Kerry and his houses? Well I don’t remember it either but it must have happened.)

When he bought the house incomes were not as high either. It’s all relative.

have none of you ever bought a house over 30 years ago for significantly less than they sell for now, paid them off, and made improvements over the years by adding on?

Why does he only report a net worth of $470,000? If he owns this compound free and clear, his net worth is much larger. I would think that public records exist for property taxes. You would need the location of his property.

His pension is worth much more than $470,000. Ironically, the value of his pension is declining as he continues to work. Congressional pensions are lavish so the pension is worth millions even if its value is declining.
