According to Paddy Conconnan and Eugene Stoloski, the organizers I spoke with face to face, both today and yesterday, the steel in the cross is solely from the North Tower. So, I’ve no idea of WND’s point of reference.
Side note. The NY Daily News’ slide show cracked the guys near this afternoon when I asked Paddy if he shaved along the route yesterday. He is clean shaven, didn’t ride a bike out, and that is not him.

The 2nd pick shows how they towed it.
I’ll have to look; I was pretty tired last night and I’m prone to typos in my good moments.

The news reports got the data on the steel cross wrong.
It is about 12 1/2 tall, 7 1/2 wide (cross-beam), and weighs just over a ton.

Awesome. Thank you for posting this.
NEVER forget 9/11.

I was in NY last month and visited the WTC memorial / museum that they have next to Ground Zero.
They have several exhibits of items recovered from the rubble at Ground Zero. As I walked in, the first thing I saw was a scrap of metal, somewhat charred. Then it hit me -- I was looking at a window from an airplane.
It really is quite an experience to stand there and realize someone was looking out this window on 9/11. There were several other items as well, very touching. I would recommend it to anyone visiting NY.

Wait until you see my post tomorrow and I tell you about just a couple firefighters, specifically, who made the run.

I often think we’d be better off leaving the gap-toothed skyline as a perpetual battle scar rather than to build a so called memorial which will likely be styled more as a means to bury the past than to remind us of our negligence.
