Obama and Biden More Liberal Than Socialist Bernie Sanders; Will Media Report?
Monday, August 25, 2008 | Kristinn, Beckwith

Posted on 08/25/2008 5:37:59 AM PDT by kristinn

Lost in the media's coverage of Barack Obama's announcement that Joe Biden would be his vice presidential nominee is any mention that the duo has a more liberal voting record in the Senate than the admitted socialist Bernie Sanders.

Freeper Beckwith, writing at his TheObamaFile.com on Saturday, highlighted the far left voting records of Obama and Biden based on the National Journal's analysis of 2007 votes in the Senate:

Isn't the VP pick supposed to balance out the ticket?

Obama is THE MOST liberal member of the U. S. Senate. He is more liberal than 94% of the Senate on economic issues; 94% of the Senate on social issues; and 92% of the Senate on foreign issues. His composite "Liberal" score is 95.5%.

Biden is the 3RD MOST liberal member of the U. S. Senate. He is more liberal than 94% of the Senate on economic issues; 88% of the Senate on social issues; and 94% of the Senate on foreign issues. His composite "Liberal" score is 94.2%.

Both Obama and Biden are further to the left than Bernie Sanders, who comes in fourth. He is more liberal than 90% of the Senate on economic issues; 88% of the Senate on social issues; and 98% of the Senate on foreign issues. His composite "Liberal" score is 93.7% -- and Bernie Sanders identifies himself as a Socialist.

For all the talk about how Biden brings age and experience to the ticket, there has been no mention in the media of just how far to the left he is. Most telling is Biden's foreign policy rating of being more liberal than 98% of the Senate. Foreign policy is one area where the pundits have said Obama needs the most help in assuring voters he is up to the job of president.

When your ticket can rightly be called to the left of the lone socialist in the Senate, it will make it that much harder to sell to the moderate voters the Democrats need to put them back in the White House.

The media, which is realizing that Obama needs all the help they can give this week, is in a quandary. Do they work to regain some credibility by reporting how far to the left the Obama-Biden ticket is, or do they continue on their road to ruin and continue their efforts to carry Obama-Biden over the finish line?

Sanders is far from being the only socialist in the senate. He may be the only senator who openly identifies himself as such, but the democRATic party is rife with socialism.

Obama #1, Biden #3 .....This came up Sat.
Biden has successfully packaged himself as a moderate, and if necessary, he’ll use his son ‘Beau’ (the Delaware attorney general and a captain in the Army National Guard who is rumored to be deployed to Iraq in Oct.) to ‘prove’ it.

McCain needs to start the ads about Obama & Biden’s voting records - voting records don’t lie.
BTW - McCain doesn’t have a rating for 2007 because he didn’t vote enough. What was his rating for 2006?

What we’re seeing is Gramsci’s “Quiet Revolution.”

The quiet revolution is one that could be diffused throughout a culture, over a period of time, to destroy it from within. Since the civilized world had been thoroughly saturated with Christianity for 2,000 years, a culture based on this religion could only be captured from within. Applying psychology to break these traditions, beliefs, morals, and will of a people, could be accomplished quietly and without the possibility of resistance.

the Italian Marxist, Antonio Gramsci, insisted that alliances with other leftist groups would be essential to victory. These would include radical feminist groups, extremist environmental organizations, so-called civil rights movements, homosexual activists, anti-police associations, internationalist-minded groups, liberal church denominations, and others. Working together, these groups could create a united front working for the destructive transformation of the Judeo-Christian culture of the West.

By winning “cultural hegemony,” Gramsci pointed out that they could control the deepest wellsprings of human thought through the medium of mass psychology. Indeed, men could be made to “love their servitude.” In terms of the gospel of the Frankfurt School, resistance to cultural Marxism could be completely negated by placing the resister in a psychic iron cage. The tools of mass psychology could be applied to produce this result.

The essential nature of Gramsci’s revolutionary strategy is reflected in a 1990’s book, “The Greening of America.” In this book, Charles Reich writes, “There is a revolution coming. It will not be like revolutions of the past. It will originate with the individual and the culture, and it will change the political structure as its final act. It will not require violence to succeed, and it cannot be successfully resisted by violence. This is the revolution of the New Generation.” Of course this New Generation would be Reich’s elite Boomer generation and the mantra for these New Age “foot soldiers” of the Frankfurt School prophets, would be “have the courage to change.”

Herbert Marcuse, who was greatly influenced by the writings of Gramsci, was one of the most prominent Frankfurt School promoters of social revolution among college and university students in the 1960s. It was Marcuse that originated the “make love, not war” slogan.

In 1919, Marxist theorist Georg Lukacs said, “Who will save us from Western Civilization?” Just a few years ago, on college campuses, students chanted “Hey hey, ho ho, Western Civ has got to go.” Where do you think they got that?

Most Americans do not yet realize that they are being led by social revolutionaries who think in terms of the destruction of the existing social order in order to create a new social order in the world. These revolutionaries are the New Age elite Boomers, the New Totalitarians. They now control every public institution in the United States of America. Their quiet revolution, which began with the counter-culture revolution of their youth, is nearly complete. It is based on the intellectual foundation of the cultural Marxists of the Frankfurt School. Its completion depends on keeping the American male and non-feminist female in their psychic iron cage.

Is this a trick question?

Of course it is, LOL. If McCain chooses a staunch conservative that's all we'll hear fom the media. But the most liberal senator picking the third most liberal senator isn't newsworthy to them.

All Obama has going for him is that the public perceives he will change the dynamics of this country's leadership that has put us in war and turned the other way when their “oil buddies” created a false oil shortage to drive up the price of oil and their profits. I myself have problems with my anger when I hear vestiges of that thinking. It tells me that a huge segment of the American population, because they do not pay close attention to what is happening in the world, allow poisonous myth to fill in the lapses of their understanding. The DemonRATs have occupied all of their time creating a series of lies to open this country to a Marxist state. They have taken advantage of a President who would rather occupy his time doing his job rather than arguing to ad infinitum how many angels can fit on the head of a pin.

I was hoping that President Bush would have been a little better defending the course of this country. There are millions of human beings that depend upon this Nation's strength and initiative for human freedom. President Bush has allowed them to infect the thinking of millions susceptable to Blame the President arguments. With this nation under Marxism, freedom will cease to exist.

Looking at one year doesn't give an accurate picture. Other years and other surveys give different results. A Senator who's absent most of the time and only votes on the bills his party thinks are important will have a higher ideological score than one who makes every vote even when it goes against the party leadership.

Obama and Clinton differed on only two votes in the National Journal survey for 2007. Because Obama missed so many votes his liberal percentage is significantly higher that hers, but whether that accurately reflects the real difference between their positions isn't easy to say.
