I imagine that the US wants the governement of Georgia not to lose any more equipment.
I am glad they sent one of the newer Aegis Destroyers. There can be differences that are impoartant between older versions of the same Destroyers, especially in the computer age.
I worked on the prototype of the Combat System for the Aegis Destoryer/Cruiser system at GE -- but that was well over 20+ years ago... Lots have changed -- for the better...
Do you know what they confiscated? I can’t imagine it was anything classified if we gave it to the Georgians.
As for the ship, you’re right. It’s one baddass piece of hardware. I wouldn’t doubt that it could handle most of Russias Black Sea fleet (that part actually capable of leaving the docks), single-handedly.
