DENVER, CO (Archdiocese of Denver) - The Bishops of the Archdiocese of Denver, Colorado, site of the Democratic convention, issued a letter directed to the faithful of the Archdiocese of Denver entitled "Separation of Sense and State: A Clarification for the People of the Church in Northern Colorado.We set forth this fine letter for the readers of Catholic Online in its entirety:
To Catholics of the Archdiocese of Denver:
Catholic public leaders inconvenienced by the abortion debate tend to take a hard line in talking about the "separation of Church and state." But their idea of separation often seems to work one way.
In fact, some officials also seem comfortable in the role of theologian. And that warrants some interest,not as a "political" issue, but as a matter of accuracy and justice.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is a gifted public servant of strong convictions and many professional skills. Regrettably, knowledge of Catholic history and teaching does not seem to be one of them.

The Bishop doesn't need to write a book. Most Catholic Dioceses have instituted a multitude of programs aimed at protecting our children. For example, all volunteers in the Dallas Diocese are background-checked, and are required to attend annual "Safe Child" training.
Did these programs commence too late? No doubt. However, progress is being made.
When will Democrats realize that they’re only making fools of themselves when they pretend to respect religion. Here’s three reasons off the top of my head why they need to end the charade:
1: They always seem to get it wrong. Whether it’s Al Gore, Hillary, or Pelosi, they always either misquote the Bible, or take short sentences out of context and twist them around to make them suit their needs, which are usually the complete opposite of what the Bible intends to say.
2: Everyone knows they’re just pandering. Does anyone actually believe that the party of “separation of church and state,” abortion, gay marriage, and overall hatred of Christianity is basing any of their views on Judeo-Christian beliefs? Radical Islamic beliefs maybe, but if anyone thinks they have any respect Christianity I’ve got a bridge to sell you.
3: God can’t be happy with them. Something tells me that if He doesn’t like blasphemy or heresy, then using the Bible itself to bring down Christianity probably gets Him pretty miffed. When these big name Democrats die, I think they’ll be in for quite a surprise.
I'm glad that pedophile priests are getting the heave-ho and prison time.
