Chris Wallace said that the Dem's Convention tonight was a "Wasted Night". Ted and Michelle's speeches did NOTHING, according to Mr. Wallace, to get votes for Barack Obama.
I must say I agree. I thought Michelle's speech was a big "so what?". Brit Hume did everything except run down on the stage after the speech and kiss her rear end. He was sickening.
Comments anyone?
Go to any of the news networks.....any of them.....and look at the Pundits.......they’ve got their funeral faces on. They’re trying to spin it, but all of them know this night fell completely flat.
I definitely don't think the RATs hurt themselves at all tonight. Nothing offensive or controversial, not that I expected there would be.
At the same time, I doubt it helped a whole lot because I think most people now view conventions as well rehearsed shows. They largely ignore them.
Is it just me or does Michelle Obama look like she’s on steroids? Seriously, look at the pic here: http://www.drudgereport.com/
Didn’t watch either.
1) I have zero respect for Kennedy. Actually, less than zero.
2) Who cares what Michelle Obama has to say about anything?
I am stunned to hear about Brit Hume. He is usually the voice of reason. I hope there isn’t something wrong with him and he is getting maudlin.
Her teeth are too big for her mouth. I do like her hair though.
In that photo on Drudge, she looks like President Mountain Dew from “Idiocracy.”
Didn’t watch it. Was that really true about Brit Hume? Doesn’t sound like him.
Thanks. I took your advice and turned on CNBC with Keith Oberman and now I have vomit all over my keyboard.
>> Comments anyone?
The only part Mrs. Tick and I watched was Mrs. O’s fantabulous teleprompter read oops I mean speech.
When Barry the Anointed came on the video feed from KC, he said,
“Honey, you were *unbelievable*!”
He meant it as a complement. On the other hand I took him literally, and give him points for the only honest statement that I heard the whole time I was watching.
Juan Williams was all misty-eyed....I didn’t see any energy or momentum tonite.
Any woman who works out can look like that or better. Steroids has nothing to do with it.
I learned from Michelle tonight that Barack wants to end the war in Iraq responsibly..her words..responsibly.
Does that mean he has dropped his insane 16 month damn-the- repercussions retreat???????
Barack said initially he was in St Louis and he was really in Kansas. It is a a vanilla lie and unconvincing performance art. Obama is not ready for prime time presidency. The arguments were not made.

Some of those blubbering libs deserve an Oscar.
Got to wonder if Chris Matthews is getting that "tingly feeling" in his leg tonight?
My stomach and my blood pressure can’t tolerate watching Liberal human waste on display. I refuse to watch their propaganda so I’ll take other Freepers opinions about what happened tonight.
Well, gee, that’s not what I just saw at yahoo.com where there is the headline “Obamas rousing speech” (in bold and large letters to capture the attention of millions going to check their email).
Really! Not Brit Hume surely. :-(
By the way did you catch Barack Hussien Obama on the big TV say he was in St Louis, then his daughter asked again where he was at and he said Kansas City. Afterwards the news media said they could understand his confussion after being on the campaign trail all these months. Just like his confusion of how many states.
The Dims no doubt feel tonight went GREAT!
After all, the very best outcome when you’ve got both Tuh-Teddy Kennedy and Michele “I hate America” Obama speaking is that neither of them does or says something stupid.
And they didn’t.
>> Was that really true about Brit Hume? Doesnt sound like him.
Nah, at least IMHO.
He’s not sucking up. He’s just struggling to be “fair and balanced”, maybe a little too hard.
His surrogates are doing an okay job of slicing and dicing.
Her teeth are too big for her mouth. I do like her hair though.
Do you think she needs a bigger mouth? They do not get my vote.
[Her teeth are too big for her mouth. I do like her hair though.]
They’ve downsized her mouth until Nov. 5th. All will be well afterwards.
Yes, her hair looks nice.
Yeah, that comment made me chuckle. She sure was unbelievable! Then he said he was in St. Louis. The next time around he told the girls he was in Kansas City.
I’ve always thought that she looked a little “manly”.
Oh, I don’t know about that. That horrible phony nun (who should be excommunicated) they had speaking was absolutely grating and WAY out of even the Dem mainstream, and that pseudo-pagan opening “prayer” made me glad I’m not religious, because I would have had to stop the car to puke on the side of the road.
Maybe he was paying homage to Teddy's bac.
>> now I have vomit all over my keyboard
You should never watch Olbermann unless you’re trying to lose weight.
WHAT NO FAINTING OR SWOONING!
Will Obama throw sweat soaked scarves to the women? oh yeah Obama does not sweat.
Mrs Black Racist Oblack was definately muzzled tonite. She was Ozzie and Harriet for the masses. Wonder if she would like to walk in those S. Chicago neighborhoods her husband has done so much for?
Pray for W and Our Troops
Doesn’t Obama have any black friends? :-)
Juan Williams said he was thrilled...it was breathtaking...we have never seen anything like this in America. Then I turned off my TV. ;)
I agree with Chris also. Didn’t she remind you of listening to a female Bill Clinton? There was a little lip biting, sappy emotion, all about me & Barack and how we can change everything!
In defense of Britt, it seemed to me that he was straining to say something nice about what she said because she wasn’t the candidate.
Also, as I was listening to her speak about this week being the anniversary of the right of women to vote and Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, I kept wondering when in the world the Republicans are going to point out that Martin Luther King was a Republican!
BATIN!
Me either. I try to get past my 60 second tolerance limit, but I usually throw in my cards at 45 seconds. I saw brief snippets of Kerry, T Kennedy, C Kennedy and M Obama. You can only hurl so many times in a short period. It was a double regurgitator when MO talked about leaving a high power law job to work in the hood. Anybody who throws away a prime lucrative career before the peak of their earning power is an idiot.
I don’t think tonight was meant to gain votes exactly. Up until now, all we have heard from Michelle Obama is that she has never before been proud of her country, and that America is a mean place, etc. In her speech tonight she was the opposite of that.
Some of the pundits are discussing that she was successful in that, and maybe she was, but if that was the bar they needed to clear, this is going to be a long week. You need a nationally televised week just to convince people you are normal? And American?
Wow.
BAITIN!
Either way she is just a farce and making herself more digestible so her inexperienced and extremely liberal husband can be president. Lies, lies, lies. A lot of heavy lifting . . . maybe that is what you are seeing is the muscle as a result of that . . . lol.
I agree with you.
But to the first poster who wrote “Brit Hume did everything except run down on the stage after the speech and kiss her rear end. He was sickening.”
yeah, what’s with Brit, anyway??? I’ve always really liked him and his objective but conservative leanings. please God, don’t let him be another casualty to the kool-aid.
I thought the aunt ester picture was a joke!
and the congress critter saying the american dream is a collective thing. sick all sick.
We had just eaten a nice dinner so I didn’t watch. Would have been a shame to toss up a good burger.
what I saw and heard screamed MAKEOVER!
Karl Rove just agreed with Chris Wallace and me. He’s on FOX now saying that tonight was a “Missed Opportunity” for the Dems.
God, please let the rest of the Convention be as blah as tonight.
re: Brit Hume. At least right now, Karl Rove’s setting him straight, siding with Chris Wallace.
I thought the comments by Juan Williams were profound in that here was a black woman who could be this nation’s first lady, making an address in front of a national audience. I think his “blackness” overcame him. I also think Britt was giving him a little cover knowing full well that the rest of the panel was going to basically say this was a nothing speech. It was obvious that Williams was moved by the moment and Hume was being a supportive colleague. Frankly, I think he showed some class by letting the rest of the panel diss her.
I think David Gergen said the same thing on CNN, as well—wasting air time.
I agree. I ignored it largely.
Great observations.
