Hillary Clinton has delivered a rousing speech at the Democratic convention imploring her supporters to set aside their grudges and disappointment to rally behind Barack Obama.
"Whether you voted for me or voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose," she said as a sea of more than 4,000 Democrats waved Hillary signs along placards hailing Obama and proclaiming Unity.
Democratic leaders hope that the emphatic and enthusiastically-received speech will help heal the wounds that are still raw after a fiercely fought primary battle in which Mrs Clinton secured 18 million votes but was just defeated by Mr Obama.
Her husband former President Bill Clinton and many other supporters dotted around the arena in Denver wiped away tears as she reeled off the reasons she had run for the White House and told the story of a marine who needed medical care.
Those are the reasons I ran for president. Those are the reasons I support Barack Obama. And those are the reasons I support Barack Obama. And those are the reasons you should too. I want you to ask yourselves, were you in this campaign just for me? Or were you in it for that young marine and others like him.
The former First Lady, now a New York senator, also delivered the sharpest attack yet against john McCain, Mr Obamas Republican opponent in November, saying Democrats could not sit on the sidelines and watch Mr McCain win and "squander the promise of our country".
She urged: No way, no how, no McCain. Barack Obama is my candidate and he must be our president.

To laughs, she thanked the sisterhood of the travelling pantsuits for their backing.

Great!
Hillary pleads for Democratic unity
DENIS STAUNTON in Denver
HILLARY Clinton has made a powerful plea for Democratic party unity, urging the 18 million people who voted for her to move swiftly behind Barack Obama as their partys presidential nominee, writes Denis Staunton in Denver. Whether you voted for me or you voted for Barack, the time is now to unite as a single party with a single purpose, she said.
We are on the same team and none of us can afford to sit on the sidelines.
Mrs Clintons keenly anticipated speech to the Democratic National Convention in Denver last night was interrupted a number of times by sustained standing ovations and some supporters wept during her remarks. The speech was introduced by a video celebrating Mrs Clintons presidential bid, which was narrated by her daughter Chelsea and featured a cameo appearance by former president Bill Clinton, who was identified as Hillarys husband.
Mrs Clintons endorsement of Mr Obama was clearer and less ambiguous than some Democrats had feared after a fraught, 18-month primary campaign. Declaring herself a proud supporter of Barack Obama the former first lady told her supporters that their efforts would be wasted if Republican John McCain wins Novembers election.
You havent worked so hard over the last 18 months, or endured the last eight years, to suffer through more failed leadership, she said.

That was the first funny thing I've ever heard her say.
For a few seconds, I liked her....and then I came back to my senses.
All I remember was the orange. So much orange.

Translation: You remembered that she's such a hopeless clod and that anything clever or witty she says has been written and vetted by a staff of paid sycophantic boobs.
Thank you.
That will be $50.
she had her fingers crossed, behind her back

Hillary’s speech was one of the best ones ever given at a convention. I don’t think she has good intentions, but it was very well done. She managed to get the crowd excited at the thought of defeating a common enemy, connect with history, make stupid people think she would support Obama, remind people of her greatness, technically approve of the nominee due to his policies, and prepare for her next campaign, all in the same speech! She did this with an almost flawless delivery that made Mrs. Obama’s speech look like it belonged at a junior high promotion ceremony.
New picture drawing of Hillary:
At first, I didn't think it was a good drawing of her. But after viewing it a little longer (and viewing it with my head tilted a little to the right.....) it's her.
LOL. Yep, that picture about sums it up.
I'll take that fifty, I need some groceries.
Then I'll forgive you...............maybe.
She really carried herself tonight.
I was not a fan of the McCain bashing or the contempt for President Bush, but I can tell that she would have been the more formidable candidate for the democrat party.
But, none of that matters.
The democrat party has nominated a black racist who also doubles as a pathological liar intent on concealing his hatred for America.
Hopefully, they who personify evil and hatred will lose this November.
I GOT IT!! she wore Orange subliminally sending out the cry of battle! The Orange Revolution!
It was only for a few seconds..come on...and then I saw that ex-wife rage on her face, raging at Harcourt Fenton......
Her speech sounds so much more supportive of Barack once they pull out the (very) few times she mentioned him...

Springtime for Hillary!
I am a proud supporter of Barack Obama.....tonight.
That's exactly what I was thinking, except the Springtime part, but the images are very apt. A big orange O for orange, the orange pantsuit, the salute, life imitates art.

‘Good one’. . .
And you know what I'm talking about.
But regardless, we love you anyway. That's what makes you so adorable. You can be had .....:):)

EEEEEEEEEKKK!! {tremble} {cower} Don't let it get me!
The one thing I noticed before Hilliary said a single word was when the camers showed Michelle Obama. I am no woman expert. I swear if looks could kill, Mrs. Obama had that look.
This “Newbie” is glad you liked it!!
“...told the story of a marine who needed medical care.”
Sounds like BS. I hate it when leftists wrap a Marine around themselves. Marines aren’t magical amulets you wear to provide some kind of advantage in a political speech. You have to earn the respect of a Marine before using him, and you best do it with proper respect. Ditto the other services.
Her treatment of Marines in the Whitehouse as bellhops earns my enmity for this Marxist whore.
