I don't want to say any more about it but am considering my options and have thought about a breakdown in society for years what could happen.

Here's an option to consider.

00 Buckshot makes a good anti-personnel round.

I’m sorry it happened too, in the same way that I am sorry that well over 40,000 people are killed on our highways every year.

That is also a bummer.

I’m outside of Atlanta. I haven’t seen it but according to him he has a “small arsenal”. Between that and his training I feel a lot safer...now we just need to fortify our own household.

I expect it when TheOne loses. Riots and killings nationwide.
. . . which is one reason why I advocate the nomination of a black conservative VP. Not to win black votes, that won't happen, but to help unify the country when black votes aren't enough to put a black racist in the White House. Put a black conservative on the ticket to model the fact that blacks don't all listen the the Jeremiah Wrights of the world.

And, in extremis, to put down riots if they occur.

But if there are riots again, we must have governors and a president who will read the riot act to journalism and tell them that they will not promote lawlessness and survive. I still wonder why the Koreans of LA didn't sue the socks off of journalism.

You must be joking. If 90% of blacks voted for Gore, 95% will vote for Obama. Putting an "Uncle Tom" on the ticket will do NOTHING to change that. He will just be called an "oreo."

Besides, there are ZERO black pubbies who are viable Veep candidates. Condi is incompetant, Michael Steele has never run anything, etc.

The affirmative action wing of the GOP are clueless on all of the above.

Man, my husband and I came really, really close to moving into the West End. The problem is that we are absolute maniacs about 1920's bungalows and Arts and Crafts period architecture, so we were so taken by this one house we weren't really using our heads. Turns out the family across the street were black muslims (the wife and little girls wore full black hijabs and the husband wouldn't shake hands with our female realtor) and a Nation of Islam meeting house was at the end of the block. The woman next door was all excited about us moving in, but proceeded to tell us to trust no one, get a gun and a few dogs, etc. She'd been beaten senseless by an acquaintance who'd muscled into her house. There was a boarding house on the other corner where cars were pulling up, dudes walked over and then after a little transaction they'd drive away. We checked out the local Kroger and our dumb liberal realtor tried to strike up a conversation with two New Black Panthers...

Luckily reason won the day and we're now in the 'burbs in a nice new "masterplanned" community. If we'd actually gone through with the other house I know for sure we'd be toast. All the old neighborhoods around Atlanta used to be so beautiful (Grant Park, Ormewood, Adair Park, Sylvan Hills, etc) but are now hollowed out hell holes, yet the promise of gentrification makes it so tempting. But they have a loooooooong way to go before they'll be safe again.

What kind is that? A shotgun? I’d rather have something that fires several rounds as it is likely there could be a bunch of them if things really go south (no pun intended). That is, if I can get one legally. I don’t want to buy one illegally, no way!

Well, I DO have my SKS and 1,000 rounds. I was thinking of being emotionally prepared to actually use it. I’m quite serious.

If it's a fixed-magazine SKS, be sure you have plenty of stripper clips for it. If detachable mag, be sure you have at least a dozen mags. In any scenario where you may find yourself having to discourage a mob from approaching, you will find yourself going through ammo very quickly

The Korean shop owners in the LA riots would fire a few rounds at the ground to make the mob back up, then a minute later have to fire a few more rounds. Those who ran out of ammo before the night ended had to retreat and watch their places burn

A thousand rounds is very much on the low end in such a scenario

Yes, it’s a shotgun (Mossberg 590). With a 9-round magazine, and with 00 Buckshot, you have 15 projectiles per round fired (with 3” shells).

Very good for “social” work, which is one reason you see them in police cruisers.

To think I was once majoring social work. Glad I had sense enough to get out of it, wouldn't have been a good fit for me at all. That made me chuckle but the other isn't any laughing matter.

Thanks for the info on the shotgun, guess that would do. Even though bigger, might be better than a 9mm with kickback or whatever they do plus easier to aim. Man, I hope I never really have to get and use one of the things, but I would feel better just knowing I could protect myself or loved ones if I absolutely had to.

The affirmative action wing of the GOP are clueless on all of the above.

I understand "all of the above." Did I not say that my suggested candidate would not attract any black votes? I meant it. I agree that Condi Rice, "clean, articulate, and bright" as she is, is not the person for the job. Neither is Colin Powell and neither, unfortunately, is Bill Cosby or - sadly, because of age - is Thomas Sowell. Michael Steele isn't my ideal either, unfortunately.

So who would I suggest? I would be looking for a military officer and combat veteran who is a conservative. There's one running for Congress in Florida, a Lt Col West. There have to be others.

Object that such people could not possibly have gotten the presidential nomination and therefore are unqualified for the vice presidency? The first is true but the second is not. The vice presidency is, barring a tragedy, a mostly symbolic office. That is why the VP nominee typically has little bearing on the outcome of a presidential election. But, ironically, the nominal strength of a VP nominee can work against a ticket. What did the nomination of Jack Kemp do for the Dole campaign? Less than nothing - because Kemp's strength became weakness when Al Gore flattered him in the process of smearing anyone who would vote for the Dole/Kemp ticket. And Kemp thanked him for doing it!

Put a Col West on the stage with Senator Biden, and let Biden boast of his foreign policy cred - and what would happen? Col West could simply say, "of course you have more foreign policy cred than I do. On paper you even have as much of a credential there as Senator McCain does. But the vice presidency is not the presidency. If this nation elects Barak Obama president, we will have to hope that he decides to defer to your expertise when you have a better grasp of an issue than he does - which, frankly, would be most of the time. Because he doesn't have any particular experience that you don't have, except for the issue of dealing with the black experience from the inside. And frankly, people who have raised that issue as their priority have been around for a long time, and they have not and will not improved the situation for us. Because nobody whose livelihood depends on complaining about a situation ever makes that situation better, or even actually wants to. And you cannot point to a single thing that Barak Obama has done other than complain, and boast that "change" will improve things.

Change is not improvement, it is only change. could be better, may not matter too much, but mostly change just naturally makes things worse. Just ask your doctor how much good the change in your body over the last 20 years has done. Building a house is change - and burning a house down is change, too. Which is easier? Which is more likely to occur, if someone says, "let's change something, quick?" You have more experience and credentials in Washington than I do. But then, I have more credentials for uniting this country than you, Barak Obama, or all the Democratic Party put together. The Democratic Party stood for slavery in the days of the Civil War, it stood for segregation in the South for a century after that - and now it stands for the idea that blacks are somehow too special, and whites who are only trying to get along are too evil, for the government to be color blind.

If the country elects Barak Obama to be president, the fact that you as vice president are well-versed in foreign policy will be cold comfort when the tough decisions have to be made and the president of the United States has no executive experience at all and finds that he can't make a decision. If the country elects Barak Obama to be president, the fact that you as vice president know all of the power structure in America will not matter when Barak Obama really only knows people like Jeremiah Wright and William Ayers who have contempt for the structure of America and will not be satisfied with anything less than an upheaval.

If you are vice president, you could very easily find yourself shouting, "Don't do that to Delaware! Don't do that to the country!" But if you are vice president, the president actually doesn't have to listen to you at all if he doesn't want to.

If I am vice president, I will speak to the president, and I will speak with the people. I will make the vice presidency a bully pulpit for giving every American respect in accordance with the responsibility they are willing to assume. Democrats cannot honestly make that promise, because Democrats are more about complaining about problems like Barak Obama than about solving problems like John McCain.

I’ve just posted this excerpt from my new book. This is what SHTF might look like in Tennessee, given the racial polarity.

“I’ve always gotten along with the Mexicans, they don’t generally hate whites”

I think that is a questionable assertion. One on one most people can get along but when numbers become large enough that generally does not hold true. Hispanics like all other groups(except whites it seem) work as a race or ethnicity. They work to preserve their culture and/or race which by definition means not caring about preserving ours. i.e. Spanish language, Latino studies, the Hispanic caucus and on and on. All of these are by their very definition exclusionary to “whites”. In America we are supposed to include all except when it comes to so called “minorities” and their culture, race and groups. How does that work exactly? Whites have been brow-beat into accepting that our culture is either somehow “universal” or on the flip side so ugly we must destroy it by committing some sort of genocide. The ironic thing is these are neither new battles nor particular to whites even though many people have either come to believe or been brainwashed that if it were not for the evil white man the world would be nirvana.

Thanks for this post. IMO It is something that deserves much more discussion. That the MSM and our government work from a agenda is of no doubt. Black on white crime is constantly softened or avoided all together. It is never listed as “racial” and constantly purported as “random” violence. To the press blacks have not a “racial” component in them or if they do it is “righteous” because of the evil white man. Unfortunately too many “evil white” people agree and accept that whites are the antithesis of existence and a peaceful world.

” I don’t care what anyone says about the motivations of hatred, the blacks have more hate for whites than anyone does for them.”

I don’t get it. Whites have done so much for them. I wonder if blacks know how the Asians would treat them given half the chance. Or Mexicans. Or any other race.

when I was a boy before interstates and we had to actually drive us hwys 19/78/41 thru downtown Atlanta, it was a safe place

even the black area....just like Jackson Miss where I come from

now....I'm in Nashville and for obvious metro demographic reasons we have less of this issue but were I to live in Atlanta now I'd opt for where my friends live north...Roswell and so forth.

Buckhead and Pace's Ferry and all that used to be so cool. Midtown too but I hear at night the goblins are out in force.

Nice pic of a darling baby....and mom ain't too shabby either!

I read this after the Cincinnati riots and am beginning to wonder if we are entering the perfect cultural/political/economic storm to actually bring it about.

Not a chance.

First of all look at %'s. Blacks are about 14% of the population. What % are in the underclass vs. middle class. Let's say it's 60% in the underclass. If so you are talking about 8% of the population destroying the country.

Second, the underclass is isolated in pockets inside large urban areas. Because they lack job skills there is no industry around them further isolating them from society.

Third, the fear of a growing underclass doesn't make sense. As a % of the population Blacks are less than they were after the Civil War. IOW, their numbers aren't growing.

Finally, as more and more middle class Blacks succeed it will further isolate those that insist on being in the underclass because alternatives exist.

>>If so you are talking about 8% of the population destroying the country.<<

No, not destroying the country. Just causing problems a lot more than they are now.

>>Second, the underclass is isolated in pockets inside large urban areas. Because they lack job skills there is no industry around them further isolating them from society. <<

Large urban areas? And where do you think most people live and work? Ever seen downtown Seattle after about 6:30 pm? Women try to get out of town before that.

>>Third, the fear of a growing underclass doesn’t make sense. As a % of the population Blacks are less than they were after the Civil War. IOW, their numbers aren’t growing. <<

Valid point, but it is not really that simple. It is not a raw numbers game.

>>Finally, as more and more middle class Blacks succeed it will further isolate those that insist on being in the underclass because alternatives exist.<<

As the article points out, this is assuming a significant economic downturn - like we seem to be seeing unfold around us. When this happens, we will have fewer and fewer middle class blacks. Heck, we’ll have fewer and fewer middle clasee anythings, which is also part of what exacerbates the problem.

But time will tell. Let’s see where we sit in February.
