I think that is Ursa Major, the Big Dipper, with the pointer stars on the end pointing to the North Star at the top of the poster, which is the extreme end of Ursa Minor’s handle.
If that's the case, then whoever came up with that graphic needs to take a closer look at both constellations.
Big Dipper handle points down. Little Dipper handle swings up. The idea of the star at the top of the poster being Polaris is extremely vague (not to mention the pointer stars are off!).
“As a working mom with only four kids, one with autism, I can tell you it takes a LOT of skill to balance everything and be effective at my job. I am probably tougher and more effective than many of the guys I work with”
Are you “tough enough” to order them to their deaths, if need be?

ROFL, I see, it’s the Alaska flag that’s off! I had to go look it up because I couldn’t remember if their flag included a bear. No bear, just a Big Dipper with a tweaked handle! ;-)
First time I’ve seen Palin interviewed on video. I think she’s terrific.
In a completely positive sense of the word, she has the makings of a “cult” figure in politics. Regardless of Election 2008, I think she has a big future.
“Condoleeza Rice is more qualified by miles, she is a warrior.”
Just last week on a talking-heads show, C.R. refused to say who she would be voting for, and would not endorse either candidate. Call me crazy, but I think it would probably be good to have a V.P. who actually supports the presidential candidate.
Also, she’s not a warrior; she’s an empty suit. Her stint in this administration has been unremarkable.
How many fathers would order their kids to their deaths? Do you think our president would send his daughters to death? Would my father send me to death? (And he is a decorated Vietnam and Cold War helicopter pilot, who did have to make life and death combat decisions.) Would I fight to the death for my kids? Yes. What kind-of sexist attitude is that? I am not a feminist, but don't doubt me because I don't have a penis.
“So don’t think that the Dems are plotting on how to get McCain to pick a woman...”
I don’t think they are, I KNOW they are! It’s the Democrats that gave us McCain to begin with! They are baiting McCain to pick the weakest VP possible and that would include Joe L. or any woman. Joe is a Democrat and women are not electable as president and therefore can’t serve as VP. (Remember: The VP is a heartbeat away from being the commader and chief) Can you imagine the American peaple being comfortable with a woman in a situation like WWII where decisions like dropping the atomic bomb could very well fall to her?
There is a reason no woman has ever been elected president of the United States and no woman has ever served as vice president. One can count successful or even noted female world leaders and military commanders from all of recorded history on one hand. I hate to sound sexist, which I’m not, but that is reality.
Not sexist?
Governor. Washington outsider. Young and energetic.
Besides, she could give all those disgruntled Clinton supporters someone to vote for.
Ordering people to their deaths in person = pretty tough.
Ordering people to their deaths with a phone call = pretty easy.
Hopefully, my stark, cold disdain for armchair warriors, be they Republican or Democrat, isn't showing through. But this is a bogus point. What people do behind a desk from across the ocean is playing chess, regardless of what their plumbing situation is.
As far as 'leading troops', a President just needs to ensure that the military is well resourced, that military force, if used, achieves political objectives, have the wisdom to decide between arms and diplomacy, and how to replace generals that aren't producing results.
Other than that, the President is just clicking the mouse, and watching statistics roll in. Even Bill Clinton could handle that. Most people assume that Hillary Clinton could do that (and maybe already has). The idea that a woman can't sit at a desk and 'lead troops' flows from the mistaken idea that the Executive branch has any involvement in the day-to-day of it.
I think Mark Sanford would also be a good choice.
And your evidence that the Dems are really truly baiting McCain’s VP pick is exactly what?
Your opinion?
Obama has who he has. If people haven’t made up their mind for him now it is unlikely they will be convinced to do so later. McCain’s choice will likely have little or nothing to do with who chooses to vote for Obama.
OTOH, McCain’s choice for VP could determine who votes for him or chooses not to vote for either candidate. McCain is the one with a lot of undecided voters. His choice will be crucial for Conservative support but in no way will those voters choose obama if they don’t like McCain’s VP.
The truth is that among the interested and likely voters, their minds are already made up between the two. The undecideds are either dishonest (at this point how can you truly be undecided between Obama and McCain) or those who haven’t decided if they will actually vote for their party’s candidate.
