I think I get why Sarah Palin is the choice, other than her obvious conservative credentials.

She will attack Obama (VP’s job)...but this is a white female attaking Obama...McCain already has the white male vote sowed up...not so with women. Therefore, have a female explain to that segment of the electorate why Obama is a false hope...I think the McCain campaign sees this as a better strategy than having a white guy like Romney et. al. attacking a black guy over his politics...

Just my $.02

All I have to say is that if it is indeed true, if Sarah Heath “Barracuda” Palin is McCain’s VP pick:

THANK YOU, JOHN! THANK YOU!

And KUDOS for keeping the press on their toes. I’ll bet they haven’t done this much real legwork to try to get a story in a long, long time. :) (Hee Hee... Too funny!)

McCain has been smart during this election. I’ve liked his ads, his timely, and NOT delayed, response to attacks and now his choice for VP. I do believe, my gosh, he’s listening to us.

You know the really fun part? She's essentially bullet-proof.

McCain can honestly claim that his VP choice has more executive experience than Obama does.

It's sad that we have to go PC in order to win, but I also think it was necessary. The Dems' final choices were a black and a woman. To have the GOP run two more old white guys wouldn't appeal to those that don't look at ideas or political philosophies (which is sadly a large portion of our nonthinking population).

MSNBC already bashing her experience to be Pres when Mac’s heart stops beating...no mention of Obama’s lack of experience. MSNBC is sad. They have to learn how to say her name sayd morning Joe. Meeka says she is surprised. morning joe says this could go Dan Quayle way or Ferraro way. “Why did they take this risk”? says Joe:)

Recreate ‘88. Bush won, no thanks to Quayle. McCain will do likewise.
Dems are pleased.
Dems are rejoicing, now they have a better shot. Still, I’m sure McCain can win.

MSNBC already bashing her experience to be Pres when Mac’s heart stops beating

IMO, this won't fly with the public. Joe Public sees a governor as someone that CAN handle running a large organization, while a Senator just sits and votes and acts snobbish. More governors have been elected president than senators, by far - so I think this perception of their abilities is widespread. The McCain camp just needs to keep referring to it - but it will be hard to compare since McCain's only experience is in the Senate as well.

And, actually, I suspect that this will be a pounding-point for McCain's campaign: Palin has more executive experience than Obama does. Plus which, she might actually have a clue about "energy independence."

I don’t think picking her hurts McCain. There were aspects of the other potential nominees that were troublesome. Picking her will be played up in the MSM as a stunt to get the Hillary crowd, but the MSM is rarely right about anything, so who gives a damn what they say.
