Brilliant McCain Stroke: Now Hillary & Bill Can Vote For A Female... (Debbie Schlussel Thumbs Up!)

Though I'm no big fan of John McCain, his choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate is a stroke of genius. Brilliant.

I'm not into affirmative action picks, but Palin is smart, articulate, and competent in her own right, regardless of whether she has a uterus. And in this case, McCain picking a woman--a bright conservative who happens to be female--was necessary.

It was necessary because Barack Obama made a big mistake in picking Joe Biden. He angered female Hillary supporters. Now, they will have a tough time voting for the Obama-Biden ticket, which dissed them, and the McCain affirmative action ticket, which gave them something to think about.

The choice of Palin makes me more enthused to cast my vote for John McCain in November, because I like Palin. She's pro-drilling for oil in ANWR and offshore, she's pro-life, and she's an attractive and intelligent married mother of several kids. And she articulates the conservative viewpoint well.

And McCain's timing was genius and masterful, too. The "bounce"--if there was any--and buzz about Barack Obama's over-rated, ho-hum acceptance speech, last night, is over. Finito. So sad, too bad.

“Explain to American voters your view on abortion?”

Do you actually think the commie who will be moderating the debate will go anywhere near that question?

This woman is not ready to be commander in chief.

She has more executive experience than Obama, that's for sure.

In fact she has more executive experience than Obama, Biden and McCain put together.

The district manager of the local Avon ladies has more experience than those three but I seriously doubt you'd still want her to be President.

That this was a purely political move is laughably transparent.

You've got to be kidding??!!! I was not inclined to pick a woman but it was a stroke of genius. Not because of politics but because she is the real deal. She's done more in 2 years as an executor, a governor, than bambi has ever accomplished in his entire life. You must have missed the speech and/or have not done your homework. Either that or your just a liberal hack.

>>Do you actually think the commie who will be moderating the debate will go anywhere near that question?<<

Do you have any doubt that no matter what the question, the sanctity of life is going to make into the answer. At which point, either because he’s so dumb that he will raise the issue, or because he will have to answer Governor Palin, sit back and watch Biden’s head explode.

BTW, how come Biden did not graduate from high school until he was 5 months short of 19. If he is such a genius, he should have been graduated at 17. He’s a year younger than I and I graduated 8 days short of 17.

We got ourselves a Margaret Thatcher.

Sarah Palin is very well spoken and obviously willing to take on trouble.

This is the best move that has been made in politics in recent memory.

Imagine a Beautiful Lady sitting or standing across from Joe Biden and he says something offensive.

Can you imagine the our cry from all across the Globe.

You have to understand this election is for the American People but will give hope and comfort to women around the Globe.

She’s as ready as Clinton (bill was or hill is)

You were never going to pull the lever for McCain, it’s OK, we know.

The lib press is bailing water out of their boat. They are trying to play this down. It's a masterstroke.

They can talk about inexperience all they want. Their first term US senator has zero experience.

We all wanted a conservative, pro life, pro family candidate who is new and fresh. We got it, baby. So even me, Mr. Anti-McCain, is pleased.

Barack Obama's over-rated, ho-hum acceptance speech,

Debbie is too quick to dismiss Algonquin J. Obama's mellifluous, yet highly partisan attack speech. It was brilliant ..brilliant bullshiite ...brilliant lies ...but still brilliant.

Please try and remember that the electorate is nowhere neart as smart as the FR community, and that both Kerry and Gore got 50% of the vote.

the good news is that Caesar Agustus Obama's "bounce" in the polls is staying well within single digits. My fear is that this is such a confusing campaign that many voters will stay home, favoring the vote fraud and voter discipline of the Democrats' grass-roots organizing.

I am THRILLED with Sarah as McCain’s pick, and it has nothing to do with her gender. Those who think Biden is more presidential are deceived. He has already shown us over the years that he is a political lightweight and for sure is another leftist. He’d be almost as bad as Carter...and that takes some doing to accomplish.

biden is a Super Sarcastic windbag. Sarah Palin is bright, quick and an excellent speaker. You watch, Biden will go so overboard and be so disgusting he will turn off the entire nation. He was a dismal choice for VP. However, he rounded out the Dems dismal ticket perfectly.

I am really excited about Sarah Palin. She will energize the conservative faith vote and lots of women too. Comparing her and Biden is just plain easy. She has class and brains, he has none. And remember, Bill Clinton, although a previous Governor, was the YOUNGEST President ever of the USA - 40 years old. CO

It is definitely an affirmative action pick

WHAA????? As near as I can tell she has worked hard for everything she has gotten and had the courage to take on big boys and quit important positions because her conscience decreed it.

This is anything but an afirmative action pick
