The Lawyers' Party [The real reason Democrats hate Sarah Palin is because she's not a lawyer]
americanthinker.com ^ | March 17, 2008 | Bruce Walker

Posted on 08/29/2008 4:46:18 PM PDT by grundle

The Democratic Party has become the Lawyers' Party.

Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are lawyers.

Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are lawyers.

John Edwards, the other former Democrat candidate for president, is a lawyer and so is his wife Elizabeth.

Every Democrat nominee since 1984 went to law school (although Gore did not graduate.)

Every Democrat vice presidential nominee since 1976, except for Lloyd Benson, went to law school.

Look at the Democrat Party in Congress: the Majority Leader in each house is a lawyer.

The Republican Party is different.

President Bush and Vice President Cheney were not lawyers, but businessmen.

The leaders of the Republican Revolution were not lawyers.

Newt Gingrich was a history professor;

Tom Delay was an exterminator;

and Dick Armey was an economist.

House Minority Leader Boehner was a plastic manufacturer, not a lawyer.

The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Who was the last Republican president who was a lawyer? Gerald Ford, who left office thirty-one years ago and who barely won the Republican nomination as a sitting president, running against Ronald Reagan in 1976.

Obama and Biden both have law degrees.

McCain and Palin do not.

Why are Democrats always afraid to nominate someone who's not a lawyer?

Whatever happened to the Democrats' claim that they favored diversity?

It takes one to know how to exploit and subvert the law for one’s own gain.

It follows. Democrats in general live their lives off the grievances of others. Republicans like to make things making all of our lives better.

Fox News just said that Sarah's mom was told about her getting while she was caribou hunting on her ATV.

You gotta love this.

Thanks for using the term “Lawyers”.
“Attorneys” makes them sound distinguished.

The business of America is business, but one would think it is law. What do you do with a crooked lawyer? Send him to Congress.

This is absolutely true. Trial lawyers control the DNC and largely the entire Senate. Just read Fred Barons entry in Wikipedia he admits as much. I think in large part the crap thrown W was due to him tackling tort reform from the git go. This upset the whole DC apple cart.

I think the term "Shyster" is more appropriate when describing most of these parasites.

But He said: "Woe to you lawyers also, because you load men with burdens which they cannot bear, and you yourselves touch not the packs with one of your fingers." --- Luke 11:46

Nothing more needs to be said.

We need a Constitutional amendment banning anyone with a law degree from holding office in either the legislative or executive branches of government. No foxes running the hen house.

Well, I am a lawyer (anyone can be an attorney, e.g., one can possess a power of attorney with no legal training). Most of the lawyers I know are pretty conservative.
I think most folks think all lawyers are the ex’s divorce lawyer or personal injury plaintiff lawyers who chase ambulances and channel dead kids.
That’s not quite right.
I agree that the American Bar Association is way left, but check out the Federalist Society.
Luke notwithstanding, I do “touch the packs” on a regular basis, and I do take burdens away from my clients. That’s why they pay me, and they are happy about it.

We need a constitutional amendment requiring military service to hold elected office at the state and federal level.

If you are making decisions that affect the lives of American military personnel, you should have some degree of personal experience of the impact of those decisions.

That would of course, require the immediate termination of just about every Democrat in office, (BTW, Republicans w/o service could go too for all I care).

Any remaining Dem veterans would get straightened out really fast.

Esquires has the right ring to it, and the old cartoon of that winking, foppish, and effete Esquire Man nicely caricatures the democratic leadership.

An ad comparing the Lawyer’s party and the People’s party. Yes we can appropriate that lefticism with a hint of a chuckle.

Lawyers can make bills 1000 pages long, full of legal garble that only lawyers understand. They can bury destructive things deep within the bill. Then, when some investigator beats his brains out reading the thing, and exposes the destructive elements, in come the lawyers again, to create hundreds of pages of "amendments", to try to fool the public again.

The former Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is a heart surgeon.

Senator Tom Coburn (R, OK) flies home on weekends to Oklahoma to
continue his medical practice...delivering babies FOR FREE and paying
out of his own pocket for malpractice insurance.

And his fellow Senators still give him grief about it.
(I guess they think Coburn is “buying votes” by helping to deliver
the children of lower-income mothers.)

Frist, IIRC, wisely let his cardiac practice go in order to avoid
this sort of harassement from his mental-midget Senatorial colleagues.
